This bar restaurant is perfect whether you are local or a tourist visiting these beautiful island . We had onion ring appetizers while enjoying a few drinks and decided on the seafood combo platter. This is our beautiful love story. I am from Texas and caught a plane flight to my Girlfriend on the beautiful blessed Island Hilton head Island, South Carolina, and we have gone to so many local places that I have not been to and she hasn’t been to in a long time or never. It has been the most blessed and amazing week of my life Hilton head Island is paradise.!

Went about 5:30pm on a Friday. Only a few people at the bar. Was sat immediately. Friendly waitress. Got the fried green tomatoes and hot shot shrimp (9/10) as an appetizer. The shrimp was the best part of the entire meal. My wife got the blackened grouper which was good (7.5/10) and I got the Mahi Mahi with bbq sauce(5/10). The only reason I got the bbq sauce was because they had a Mahi Mahi bites dish with the sauce. Fish was dry and overcooked. The hushpupies were heavily breaded and oily. Atmosphere was ok but more bar style than a seafood restaurant in my opinion.

First time customers, arrived ~5:30pm on Sunday, empty restaurant-full bar, seated quickly, responsive waiter- Andrew, featured crab cakes were ok, gumbo was salty, decent she-crab soup.

Tried the Philly cheese steak, definitely got more sandwiche than I expected and delicious. Seems like a nice mix of local folks, and folks visiting on their trips to the island. The Bartender was nice, and it was pretty cool little spot to eat, or watch your favorite teams. Nice surprise since we really went just because we could walk there.

Finding a good meal that won’t break the bank is a challenge on Hilton Head for sure. We did find one though here at Drydock. We had the fried green tomatoes, a burger and a grouper sandwich. All were very tasty and came out nice and hot. The service was very good and we felt very well taken care of. We will definitely come back again.

Worst experience I’ve had from a locally owned restaurant. Ordered the steam pot which was to include muscles, clams, shrimp, Atlantic crab, snow crab, sausage and coleslaw. The plate did not include the Atlantic crab or the sausage. Our waitress (the owner) was made aware and said she would fix the mistake. Came back to let us know that all of the steam pot bags had been prepped incorrectly for today and she would have what was missing out soon. She then brings back more snow crab clusters and one piece of sausage. The piece of sausage was still frozen and when we confronted our waitress (the owner) about it. She proceeded to scoff at us and say well it’s because it was done in a “rush”. We also asked about the Atlantic crab that we still didn’t receive and she got an attitude stating they gave us more snow crab instead. No explanation of why we weren’t given Atlantic crab. She then proceeded to tell the other owner of the restaurant that my husband and I have an additude in front of all the other partons. I think our “attitudes” were warranted considered we were not served the meal that was advertised then when we were more than willing to let them correct their mistake they still did not bring out the other crab and a frozen piece of sausage. Very disappointed with the laziness of quality control, as the male owner stated all the steam pots were prepped incorrectly it would be fixed tomorrow. They’re stealing right from under your nose. I’m check your plate.

My mom and I went there around 2:30 on Sunday. To be completely honest, I was a little worried when I walked in and the place was empty besides a few sitting at the bar watching the game. The bartender welcomed us and in and allowed us to seat ourselves. We were able to order off the whole menu, even though it wasn’t technically dinner time, which was nice. We started with a soft pretzel with beer butter, which was really good. I had the fried seafood platter and my mom had the grilled grouper. The food was so fresh and came out very quickly. The hush puppies were soft and fried shrimp firm and not soggy. The bartender kept our drinks full and was very personable. Overall, a good, low key place to get some good food.

Clean open space. Nice lighting and on theme decor. It does have a 2 sided bar with lots of TV so it is not a quiet dinning experience but the noise is not loud enough to disrupt conversation in the booth area. The wait staff were extremely friendly and prompt with drinks and service. Wonderful customer experience.
The blue crab dip was amazing. Warm, creamy and full or large chucks of crab. Properly seasoned and delicious. Due to dietary restrictions I was unable to eat the tortilla chips that it is served with but they substituted those for celery sticks which was a perfect alternative.
For the main course I had the ahi tuna dinner with steamed broccoli. The broccoli was properly cooked and still had a bite to the stems. It was however not seasoned but was fixed quickly with a dash of salt. The wasabi sauce was mellow and a delicious addition to both the broccoli and the tuna. I ordered the tuna grilled and medium. The cook and seasoning was on point but unfortunately it was only just above room temperature, it feels like the fillet was cooked prior and just reheated on order. I hope that’s not the case but it was a huge disappointment as it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Both plates were served with a pointless tiny pile of cabbage (clearly out of a slaw mix with no dressing) with a few chunks of tomato. It was pointless and unappetizing. Leave it off! The plate was also dusted with creole seasoning which was also pointless. I’m not sure if these additions were to add interest or a pop of color to the plate but I’d rather a clean plate than one with inedible dust and pile of undressed, unseasoned veg.

We dropped anchor at DryDock Seafood & Spirits and ordered the fish and chips to go – except we swapped the fries for onion rings. The fried grouper was decent—nothing to rave about, but it got the job done.
The onion rings, however, were a different story. They seemed to have taken a dip in plain flour with no seasoning in sight. Instead of the crispy, golden rings we hoped for, we got a soft, limp mess that tasted as sad as it looked.
If you stick to the fish, you’ll stay afloat—but if you’re craving crispy sides, you might want to steer the ship elsewhere
