We started at the bar with a beautifully crafted cocktail made by Fabian — perfectly balanced and the ideal way to begin the night. From there, the experience only elevated. The ingredients are clearly exceptional — the prosciutto, the bread, and the olive oil genuinely tasted like we were sitting in Italy. The quality is unmatched, and honestly, I haven’t had anything remotely as good anywhere else in the States. For the entire evening, I truly felt like I was transported back to Italy — the flavors, the hospitality, the ambiance — everything felt authentic and immersive.
Peter selected a phenomenal Brunello to pair with our meal, which complemented everything flawlessly. Salvatore was engaging, attentive, and made the experience interactive and memorable by preparing our Caesar salad and cacio e pepe tableside — such a special touch.
For dinner, my husband had the strip steak, and I ordered the whole snapper filet with broccoli rabe — both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We ended the evening with tiramisu while a violinist played “Happy Birthday,” which made the night feel magical. A final glass of grappa was the perfect closing note.
The entire evening was thoughtful, elegant, and unforgettable. There is nothing like it in the area. It’s truly a must-try.
The food was phenomenal! I had the lamb chops, the most tender meat I’ve ever had in my life. The service is outstanding and yes when you open the meme, it glows!!
We had the appetizer special, burrata with pan fried speck, filet mignon, the fish special – table side filet red snapper, bottle of champagne, and tiramisu dessert.
We didnt “cheap out” and just get pasta and a salad. We ate just how we would normally eat at any other nice restaurant and total bill was $240. We went in expecting a $400 meal, but pleasantly surprised, it was not! Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! After diner, we went to Piano bar for the live music , and that was a very cool atmosphere. The bar was beautifully lit, barentender made a perfect maragita and a delicious pomegranat martini. The manager Sean chatted us up and offered some free tequila tastings, which was a nice treat. Start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. My only regret was not going sooner! 10/10 highly reccomend!
I wish I could give more stars.. I tell everyone I meet about going to LUCCA is a must! Kudos to all
For a special occasion, my wife and I sought a restaurant that was both intimate and exceptional, and our online research led us to Ristorante Lucca. It exceeded our high expectations in every way.
Cuisine: While Lucca bills itself as traditional Tuscan, we found it to be even better. The menu is a thoughtful evolution of historical recipes, clearly incorporating best practices from the finest Italian restaurants on the East Coast. The quality is simply magnificent. While we won’t detail every dish, we can confirm they live up to the hundreds of glowing online reviews.
Ambiance & Atmosphere: The restaurant is housed in a beautiful, grand building with high ceilings and a luxurious interior, creating a truly festive atmosphere. To ensure an intimate experience, we booked for a Tuesday at 5:00 PM and were rewarded with a wonderfully serene and personal dining environment, free from the large crowds that frequent other establishments.
Location & Practicality: Conveniently located at the intersection of Routes 206 and 130, Lucca is easily accessible from across Central Jersey. Unlike many spots in historic towns, it offers ample parking and a stress-free arrival.
Verdict: A magnificent place for a special meal. We were so impressed by the combination of world-class cuisine, elegant atmosphere, and easy accessibility that we are already planning to bring our friends. Highly recommended.
Side note: pay attention to the dress code. It is clearly posted on Open Table and their website. This is the type of place where I’d expect there to be some level of attire recommended to guests based on the name alone.
