Family restaurant located in a retrofitted barn that has been in the same family for 85+ years. There is seating at the bar, in the bar area, and a separate dining room. There are 12 TV’s around the bar, bands on the weekends, a quick draw lottery, and the NFL football package. Our new menu consists of: thin crust pizza, fresh meat burgers 1/2 lb or 1/4 lb., and specialty salads. Drop on in to see some history and experience delicious food. Live Music on weekends, and Open Mic and Jam on Thursday nights.

Worst French Dip sandwich, I didnt even finish it. Looked like a ten year old in the kitchen made it. Microwaved beef slices and a dry hoagie. Fries weren’t bad, service was slow. Won’t be going back. They used to have great food but the management changes as made it a dump.

Shortways Barn is always a good time. Anthony Puluse will be hosting his annual show on Sunday, June 26th @ 1:00. This year Anthony is also celebrating his graduation from High School, June 26th @ 1:00 at Shortway’s. Lots of unbelievable music is planned for the entire day. It is going to be a great day. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
UPDATE 6/26/22: Great “Very Hot” Day. Music was unbelievable. School of Rock Montclair, School of Rock Waldwick and Anthony Puluse and Friends put on a great show all day. I absolutely loved how enthusiastic the HouseBand from Waldwick was. They knew some of the songs that School of Rock Montclair had on their set list so Waldwick joined Montclair. The two HouseBands were very supportive of each other. It was a nice experience. Lots of people commented on how good the bands were and that all the musicians were amazing.

Stopped in with my daughter while visiting. I used to be a regular 35 years ago when we had turtle races on Wednesdays lol. Sierra (sp?) was our bartender and absolutely adorable. She made me a drink she created called cinnamon cookie swirl to go with our shots of tequila lol. Delicious. She is a keeper!

Our favorite weekly, if not more, place to go. Friendly, relaxing, great food, affordable for families. Food is great, atmosphere is just like Cheers! You always see someone to smile and wave to. Staff is friendly and attentive. Great later evening entertainment on the weekends and sometimes good dinner musicians during the week.
