Made it finally to try it out and we were not disappointed! Okay maybe we overdid it but we tried several things. First our London fog was made perfectly with a hint of lavender. We both give it an 5/5 stars. We ordered a blueberry lemon scone and it was fabulous. The flavor, softness, yet crisp crust was hone exceptional all around. I have a cookie and we bought cupcakes to gift for the holiday. The cupcakes are flawless and decorated so cute. The poinsettia flower was on point. Then we indulged in a croissant. Let me say it was buttery and flakey and delicious. I had just ham and cheese but my husband had ham egg and cheese. This was overall a fantastic experience and I will be sending plenty of people over. Fast, fresh, and fantastic!!

Tried this place excitedly on a whim after visiting paint mines. As a pastry chef myself, I really enjoy visiting smaller bakeries whenever I travel and seeing the amazing creativity that’s out there. The service was… not as friendly as I expected. The macarons were pretty stale and honestly aren’t done correctly. They look beautiful but are hollow, dry, lacked flavor and a bit mealy. The “truffle” wasn’t a truffle at all it was a cake pop. Disappointed. Maybe I tried the wrong items.

I am always truly open to having a conversation, however, small business owners (any business owner) must understand that the interaction and conversation starts with you. When we walked in, yes, we were greeted with a good afternoon, but the tone and the lack of responses following were unacceptable as the owners of a business. I asked how the day was going and was met with silence. I am always excited to have a quick little chat with another chef, but instead of being friendly, you kept quiet and a close eye on my kid instead. It felt like we were a bother to your afternoon rather than guests in your establishment. I wasn’t having the best day either but I came in with a smile on my face hoping to boost my spirits with some of your delicious looking treats.
As far as coming back in to have a conversation, I would have been more inclined to turn my family around and come back to exchange thoughts and possibly “fix” the issue if you had said more to us than “good afternoon” and a very clipped “total is xyz..” and possibly warmed the interaction a little bit.

I wasn’t given the impression that I was allowed come back and let you know if we don’t enjoy the treats. I mean, we didn’t even get a “enjoy” or a “have a good day”. Nothing. Zero.
My husband and I have been working in this industry for 17 years and understand that while reviews can be seen by all, kindness goes a long way and can always fix the one or two crappy ones. So yes, while this review is live on the internet for all to see, those who visit you irregularly should be able to hear the honest truth.
As much I do not enjoy hurting anyone’s pride or disheartening anyone in the slightest, learning from situations like this is what makes your business better. My family and I visit Calhan every few months or so and I will happily try again because I truly do want to believe that you were simply having an off day. When that day comes, i will happily remove/update my review.

Riley, Rachel, and Riley’s husband are just some of the sweetest, kindest people!!! Riley takes pride in what she does and you can tell by not only her sweet treats but her customer service as well! Even when they are busy we will always wait! Her breakfast sandwiches and scones are fantastic!!!!

I ordered some custom cupcakes and macarons for a baby shower I was hosting and they were the best cupcakes and macarons I have ever had. Normally when cupcakes are beautiful you sacrifice some flavor but that was not the case. They were beautifully made and the flavors were just amazing. I will absolutely order from them again.

She made 2 cakes for our wedding with custom designs. They were both delicious and came out looking better than we could have imagined! One of them was a gluten free cake due to guest dietary restrictions, and it was so good we couldn’t even tell it was gluten free!

We happened upon this gem as we were driving through the area. We ordered a “Brookie” brownie and a Cookie Butter Cupcake. Both were absolutely delicious! And the prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend a stop in when you’re nearby!
