I went with a party of 8 and had a reservation, but was sat at the wrong table at first. So we moved to the reserved table again when the host of the party got there.
We ended up waiting for 15-20 minutes without service or drinks. Which was confusing since there was only one other table besides us when we originally got there.
It was super cold (50 F) inside but slightly warmed up after 2 ish hours (52 F). I would recommend bringing at jacket if you come during lunch.
The food was okay. Not good not bad. I definitely wouldn’t pay over 20-90 bucks for it again, though. Maybe that was partially because our orders weren’t double checked by the server. My side of the table, ended up getting food we didn’t order. It was okay, because we still ate it anyways.
Another one was our check got mixed up even though I said my side of the table was individual, several times. A lot of communication problems.

We wanted to order hot comfort food for takeout but were told that they were out of lettuce so all the dishes that came with a side salad would instead get double Miso soup. Placed the order anyways. When picking up, one of the main dishes was missing. No explanation or apology given. They just left all the other meals on the counter while starting to cook the missing one, about 15 minutes. Needless to say, the food was cold when we ate it. The place was not even busy, no reason for the delay.

TURN ON THE HEAT!! The food was excellent very delicious fresh couldn’t ask for better service or food. The problem was the restaurant was freezing cold at 60° by the thermostat on the wall. When asked if they could turn up some heat they said it was on but the owner turns it off or down really low at night so it takes half a day to get it back up to temperature. One family left said they were going to cracker barrel because it was too cold in there to eat. We put our coats on and waited it out because the food is always very good. If the owner wants to save money set it at 68° and leave it at 68°

YamaFuji is a bit of a mixed bag – the exterior is really run-down looking, but the inside looks quite nice. The bathrooms were quite dirty – it felt like nobody cleaned them (there was no soap, for starters). Our server quoted the current day’s deals incorrectly but he was really friendly and accommodated us well. The food came out really slowly but it was delicious! We got the salmon lover roll and some spicy salmon tempura rolls and both were delicious and a reasonable price too. Overall, not the best experience but the food was good enough that I’d consider going back.

From out of town, went there for a birthday dinner. Unimpressed. Food was below average. Menu wasn’t great, and food wasn’t good. One person in our party got sick. Our drinking glasses looked like they had a film on them and a couple plates had chips out of them. I expected better.

I had the pork katsu which was delicious, hot and huge!
Our server was very polite and prompt. Overall a great experience and excellent food! Highly recommend and would absolutely return and bring friends and family.

Haven’t eaten from here since the pandemic. Stopped in recently for lunch. Had shushi/sashimi only. Fresh and delicious just like I remembered and they offered a free tasting during lunch hour of another roll. The young server obviously lacks experience but was trying.

Had some EXCELLENT sushi here! My wife and I had spent the day hiking in Shenandoah National Park and this was exactly what we needed! Everything was great! The food was incredible, the service was on point and the restaurant was very clean. Just wish I had more room in my stomach for more sushi!

It was not great at all. You walk in and instantly got the smell of fish… Then, we sat down and could smell what smelt like rotten veggies. The atmosphere had potential, but even the sushi seemed to lack effort. It’s like the chefs gave up on quality. **Update** barely got home and the food didn’t stay with me if you know what I mean… Would give it zero stars, if allowed.
