I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Little Country Diner, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. Tucked away along State Highway 71, this unassuming spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like stepping into a friend’s cozy kitchen.
Service: 5/5 The service here is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your dining experience enjoyable. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a smile, and they go out of their way to ensure you feel right at home.
Soup: 4.5/5 Now, let’s talk about the soup. If you’re a soup lover like me, you’re in for a treat. The daily soup specials are made from scratch, and they hit the spot on a chilly day. Whether it’s a hearty chicken noodle, a comforting tomato bisque, or a flavorful chili, you won’t be disappointed. Pair it with their fresh-baked bread, and you’ve got a winning combination.
Menu Variety: 4/5 While the focus is on classic American comfort food, the menu offers a nice variety. From chicken-fried steak to Philly cheesesteak omelets, there’s something for everyone. And don’t miss their cucumber salad – it’s light, refreshing, and a perfect side.
Atmosphere: 4/5 The diner has a rustic charm, with checkered tablecloths and vintage decor. It’s the kind of place where locals gather for breakfast chats and travelers find solace in a warm cup of coffee. If the weather is nice, grab a seat on the outdoor patio and soak in the Texas sunshine.
Value: 5/5 The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. You won’t leave hungry, and your wallet won’t feel too light either.
In summary, the Little Country Diner is a delightful spot that captures the essence of small-town hospitality. Whether you’re passing through or a regular, you’ll leave with a full belly and a smile. Don’t miss this hidden gem in the heart of the Hill Country!
I had the Farmer’s Omelette and my mom had a smaller meal of one waffle and egg. Both were fresh, hot and delicious. Maria and the other staff took amazing care of us.
I love coming here when I visit family. This is my hometown and supporting the businesses here is a privilege
If you’ve ever read my bio you’ll know why I have high standards. There’s no replacement for the personable service and made to order food you get in a farm community. Every food establishment should aim for this kind of service.
