Saleya Riviera Cafe in San Marco review – Facebook
We are excited to announce our soon to open new restaurant …
Reviews
The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. The décor strikes that perfect balance of sophisticated and inviting, with warm touches that make it feel both upscale and comfortable — exactly the vibe you want for a spot you’ll return to again and again.
I visited during one of their first days open, and honestly, you’d never know it. The staff, as always with this restaurant group, is incredibly knowledgeable and represents the ownership beautifully. Their enthusiasm and expertise elevate the entire experience, making you feel well cared for without any stuffiness.
The cocktail menu deserves special recognition for its creativity and diversity. The spritzes and Negronis in particular are standouts, thoughtfully crafted with interesting twists that showcase the bartenders’ skills while respecting the classics. Each drink is beautifully presented and expertly balanced.
The real star though: the bread. Fresh, perfectly textured, and clearly made with care, it might just be the best bread I’ve had at any restaurant recently. It’s the kind of bread that makes you understand why people wax poetic about carbs.
Each sandwich is thoughtfully constructed with premium ingredients that shine through in every bite. The sides aren’t afterthoughts either — they’re composed with the same level of care and creativity as the mains. You can taste the difference that top-notch ingredients and skilled preparation make.
What excites me most about Saleya is that it fills a real need: a spot where you can grab a phenomenal casual meal without sacrificing the quality and sophistication you’d expect from this restaurant group. It’s going to become one of my regular spots, and I suspect I won’t be alone. San Marco is lucky to have it.
We had the hummus and the pumpkin bisque as appetizers, both incredible.
My partner had the “Bollito” with a side of chips. Rated a 12/10.
I had the Athens, I swear that sandwich changed my life. 1000/10.
The beer/wine/drink selection is not to be ignored.
Grab a cocktail and have and incredible sandwich.
There is SO much love put into this place, you will not be disappointed.
The pumpkin bisque is just so tasty, you’re on the wrong track it you don’t try it. You cannot go wrong with any of the food on the menu. The Pastry Chef brings their talents to both Rue and now Saleya as well –> the breads and desserts are wonderful!
That said, favorite sandwich is “Le Boeuf.”
The only criticism I have, is that the space can get very loud when it’s busy. I would love it if they could work in some noise dampening paneling to help with this.
Otherwise, perfection.
We would recomend this as a place to get cocktails and appetizers.
We started our meal with the burrata and the golden beet carpaccio. The burrata was amazing, all the elementsmade for a fantastic bite. The focaccia that was served with it was nice and light. The golden beets were delicious, but could have used just a touch of salt.
I had the lamb rigatoni and my partner had the short rib since they were out of the seabass. The short rib was lacking the salt it needed to really bring the demi-glace to life and wasn’t the temp ypunwould expect for a braised dish.
For cocktails, we tried the Punch All’ibisco and And God Created Woman. Both were fantastic.
The server wasn’t what I expected for this type of restaurant. She did not introduce herself or really make any recommendations until it came to the seabass being out. She told us that we didnt really want it anyway because it supposedly takes to long to cook. Not a great way to pivot into recommending another dish.
We will be back to try out lunch since most reviews rave about their lunch.
