New location, same goodness as always. Ordered the King Combo and split it with my partner. Check my last photo for the bone pile. That will tell you about the cook quality. The beans have a slight touch of something sweet and the Baked Potato salad was a refreshing taste different from what other places offer. Enjoy.

Can’t say as I’ve ever been to a Pig-N-Whistle before. I think I understand them to be a chain but I may be mistaken. Regardless, this location is somewhat off the beaten path and us non-locals never would have found them without Google maps. I’m glad we did!

Fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. A little long on the Parmesan cheese dusting (I didn’t know that was a thing) but fried nice and crispy without being greasy. Tomatoes rocked!

I ordered a half-slab, muddy. For those who don’t know (that was me until the waitress very patiently explained) ordering muddy ribs means that they take a dry-rubbed and smoked rib and add more rub and some bbq sauce to them, caramelize the sauce a bit and serve them up. Messy? For sure. Delicious? Absolutely. I really like ribs and these were some damn fine ribs! Smoky flavor, sweet combination of meat and sauce plus a little spiciness coming from the rub. That’ll do pig, that’ll do!

There were sides also but the ribs were the star of the show.

I went through the drive thru after church and got a catfish and shrimp plate. This was my first time ordering food here. The menu shows catfish – 4 filets for 12.99. I was thinking 4 filets is a lot. My husband and I can share this plate. In fact I decided to get the catfish and shrimp for us to share. I get home and see these little strips of fish. That is not a filet. The shrimp has been butterfly cut to make it seem larger. This fish was not catfish. It is swai. It’s not palatable if you like catfish. It was rubbery and the texture of the flesh was not that same flakiness of properly cooked catfish. Neither the sway fish or the shrimp was seasoned. The hush puppies were good and the only thing I liked. The shrimp were OK to eat. I’m disappointed to say the least. The thing that bothers me also is passing off this cheaper swai fish for catfish and charging people catfish prices.

This is the first time since they moved to their new location. We went on Valentine’s Day evening, while busy, much of it was takeout. My spouse and I opted to eat there. He ordered the brisket and I ordered the catfish/shrimp basket. The portions were large and both tasted great. I gave it a 4 on atmosphere because, as great as the food tasted, I did wish it had better atmosphere. The lights were super bright and I think if it could have been dimmed somewhat, it would have felt more cozy. We did enjoy the music playing, probably a collection of oldies, which was just the right volume to allow for conversation. Also, and most important, the two of us ate for just at $40, which I haven’t done in a while. All in all, we enjoyed the experience and know it won’t be our last visit.

I have had lunch here on several occasions and have had no complaints. My diet is restricted and I only eat carnivore meals. The menu only has pulled pork in one pound serving so I selected it so I could have lunch and was told this is a to go order and that I could not eat it in the restaurant. What? I buy my food and can’t eat it in the restaurants? Needless to say I’ll be taking my business elsewhere form not. By the way it’s not like they were busy. Only one other couple in the dining area at lunch time

No. Don’t be in Millington or near Memphis and think this is where you should go for BBQ or catfish.

Friendly staff. Ordered at counter and found our own table in empty restaurant at around 6pm. Food was brought to us in reasonable time and included one type of sauce. My pulled pork was an ample portion but dry and tasteless. The fried catfish filets looked good with a light cornmeal batter, and also good sized portions. I just wish it was cooked slightly longer, as it was not thoroughly done. Also we took some of it home and was later surprised at the amount of grease we got out of it. My cole slaw was OK but had too much dressing for my taste. Meal came with 2 hushpuppies which were good, but definitely on the sweet side.

After my meal I went to their restroom. No hot water, broken towel dispenser, overflowing trash can, and an obviously bad paint job as the former color was visible in areas.

First Timers: The food tastes great. Ribs was tender falling off bone. Pull pork nice and tender. The baloney could have been cooked a little longer for a burnt crispy taste but it was still good. The bake beans was tasty I added some of my pull pork to it and it hit just right after that. To the cook and staff: Good job keep up the great service.
