I’ve been to several tacos like this style, and they’re good. The sauces are tasty and spicy. I like it!!! I recommend the delicious Mexican city sirloin. The luxury was clean and the workers were very friendly. next time I will come back to try there margaritas

Today, Monday, December 22nd I decided to try Tacodeli.
Slaughter Lane suite B- 150, because my next door neighbor has been telling me about it for the last 6 months. We live off Escarpment Blvd, only 10 minutes away.
Upon arriving at 10:40 and looking at the menu, I decided to get my husband and myself two tacos to go with a side of avocado slices for both of us.
I placed my order at 10:43. A.m.. I did not receive my order until 18 minutes later.
11:01. A.m.. In 45 years I’ve lived in Austin, Texas and we’ve been to a lot of taco places, I’ve never had to wait almost 20 minutes for 2 breakfast tacos to go.
The people in the restaurant and eating outside were all seated and eating with their food.
There was no one in front of me so I placed my order. I know you had a lot of to-go and pick up orders, people calling in or placing online orders because those bags kept getting placed in your warmer, waiting for people to stop by and pick up.
But while I was there for 18 minutes, only two people came by to pick up their orders.
Why you can’t rush or put a person waiting “actually physically ” in the restaurant, ahead of someone who’s going to be showing up in 30 minutes or so … to get their order quicker?
I don’t understand that policy? Please explain if you care too. I’d like to hear it.
I only went here because my neighbor recommended it.
But unfortunately after the experience I dealt with we will not be coming back.
I ordered two: potato, egg and bacon breakfast tacos.
The bacon was just one slice and it wasn’t chopped up.
I ordered a side of guacamole slices , thinking I’d get several slices.
When I got my order.
I have always learned, no matter what to go order I’m getting. If I’m getting Chinese food, Mexican food or whatever. I Always check my order before I leave the restaurant.
Upon opening the bag I saw these two tiny little to go plastic containers.
See photos attached of slivers not slices. I asked the lady who handed me if I could get more avocado because this was unsatisfactory and she said No.
You’d have to talk to the manager. So I said, Could you get the manager for me?
She said , she’s behind the counter, taking orders.
So instead of waiting for her, I got in line behind three other people. So when it was my turn I explained to her that I felt it was very unsatisfactory to be getting 2 little containers with slivers of avocado. I asked if I could get more please? As she started to talk, the young man behind the counter, who also worked there said ‘It’s the standard 2 ounce size “
and she very quickly “shut him up” by saying ….
“I’ve got it handled”
and she looked back at me and said …
No ma’am that’s the standard amount to go avocado that we give. I said but it’s only slivers so it’s not even slices.
And she said 2 oz is what everyone gets.
So I said, I’ll do a really good review for you online on Google …. If you would please give me some extra avocado?
So she’d begrudgingly “Rolled her Eyes” at me, turned around , said something to the cook. They passed her a little thing of avocados and she gave me two extra little slices …. see photos below.
By the time I got home and opened up our tacos, like I said, there was one , 2 inch slice of bacon , in each of our tacos. Not even chopped up.
The eggs weren’t really cooked that well. They were kind of runny and oily.
I wished I had taken a picture of them but I didn’t.
So we proceeded to both put our avocado slivers on the breakfast tacos and eat. We are on a budget and retired and when we go out to eat somewhere or if I pick up something to bring home we hope and expect to get good service and good food.
The lady whose name I believe was Colorissa? Or Clarissa?
She said she was the Manager and her Rolling her eyes as she turned away from me. That is so unprofessional. She was rude to me. I feel I was being polite and all I was doing was asking for a few more slices of avocado and not just 2 oz slivers.

I came in during a rush and didn’t know what I wanted but a really nice girl with bangs helped me figure out my order and gave me all the salsa I needed so sweet. Excellent service!

I’m a taco deli fan through and through. This place is my go to, I love their tacos, their service, their sauces, everything.

At the Slaughter Lane location, Ryan is so kind and makes my day when he takes our order. Keep up the good energy, Ryan

Taco deli has become a mainstay of the Circle C neighborhood since it moved in a few years ago. As a parent it’s become one of my weekly traditions to pick up tacos for the family. They’re usually perfect with their timing estimates for picking up food and the app is great for ordering food. The food is always great and freshly prepared.

Update April 2025: it was so good last year we had to come back again this year and we are glad we did. We found a couple of new favorite tacos. The Akaushi Picadillo was better than ever and the Puerco Verde was delicious. The Papadulce (with sweet potato) was just ok, but definitely unique.

April 2024: We had a good assortment of tacos that ranged from $4.50 to $5.50 each. Our favorites were the Delibelly (pork belly), the Shrimposito (grilled Texas gulf shrimp), Puerco Verde (pork shoulder, salsa verde), and Akaushi Picadillo (ground beef).
The MOJO SALMON had lots of Mojo, a bit spicy, but good! I also thought the Space Cowboy with baby portabella mushrooms was a standout!

I’ve lived in Austin for over a decade, and my favorite Tacodeli location used to be off of Spyglass. I came to this location a few times in the past few years and was not impressed; the food was wildly over-seasoned and overcooked, the staff didn’t seem to be paying attention to anything, etc. I’m glad I gave this place another chance today, because somehow things seem to have turned around 180 degrees. The food was great – as good if not better than the Spyglass location’s – and the service was warm and friendly. Other people must’ve noticed too, because the restaurant was almost full (a far cry from my previous experiences, where I’d be one of the only ones dining in). After my meal, I walked up to the manager and shook his hand, thanking him for helping turn the place around.

First time here. So bad. Tortillas were raw. The chorizo was so salty/dry and not mixed into the egg. The eggs were also dry. There was a lot of people eating and picking up food. First and last time eating here. Hit up an authentic taco truck instead. I just don’t understand why it’s so popular .

Friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly. And after one taco, I can say it’s great. I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus, but Austin used to have incredible options for breakfast tacos. Not so much now, but Tacodeli is carrying the torch. Definitely pay them a visit.

Food is good, service is good – staff were friendly and helpful and even checked with the kitchen on ingredients for me (dairy in the mashed potatoes), BUT the soda machine is NASTY and covered in mold, which makes me concerned for the rest of the cleanliness.
