If you’re in downtown Glasgow, this cozy, authentic Japanese eatery is a must-try. From the moment we walked in, we were drawn in by the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.
We started with the popular pork gyoza—light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. For the mains, we opted for the pork and duck tonkatsu. Each dish was fried to order, arriving piping hot with an incredibly delicate crust. The curry sauce was a highlight: velvety smooth and cooked to perfection. We were especially surprised by the duck tonkatsu, which offered a unique texture and flavor we hadn’t encountered before.
While the portions are generous, the space itself is intimate, seating only about 18–20 people at a time. It’s clearly a local favorite, as the takeout counter was buzzing. The waitress service were fine and courteous.
Between the decor and the quality of the food, it felt just like the izakayas we used to frequent in Japan.
Recommended for a quick, high-quality bite!

The free soup was absolutely unbelievable.
Chicken thigh katsu was delicious. They made an off menu tempura veg that was crispy without being greasy. Perfect.
Portions were large and everything came so quick.

The perfect spot to visit on a cold and rainy day. The food comes out piping hot and crispy and is cooked perfectly. We had the duck and chicken katsu and it was great!
The only downside is the seating which can be a little bit of a squeeze to get in and out.

Lively, busy, basic eatery with super cute staff, very tasty meals and authentic atmosphere/ vibes. Chicken Udon & Eel Udon are very tasty and their miso soup is better than some other places! Come hungry, portions are massive.

Came here because me and my friends were craving a Japanese dinner. Upon arrival it was pretty packed, but they still managed to get us in without any wait time!
Chicken katsu curry was very good, although a bit spicy (unexpected) and too filling to eat. The miso soup was very good too.

The food is amazing here. Best katsu curry I’ve had, and really fast service. However the place is so small that it’s a little uncomfortable with how close you are to others. Still worth it in my opinion, and they do takeaway

Katsu feels like your best kept secret hole in the wall resturant once youve been. The chicken Katsu was simply amazing and probably one of the best curry bases Ive ever had! Just a warm hug in a bowl! From taste to visual everything feels authentic.
Staff are lovely and friendly I even recived a rose on valentines day which was such a sweet personal touch. Definitely recommend definitely be going again!

Came out of Katsu a new man. By far the best food out of Glasgow maybe even the UK. Amazing service even the chefs are really friendly. Great veggie options, don’t miss out on this treat.
