This Hibachi place just did not do it for us… We went there for dinner and were disappointed that the hibachi combo dinner didn’t have both salad and miso soup included like other hibachi places, they ask you to pick between the two. I order hot green tea, was expecting a pot, again like at other places, but the server only brought one plastic mug and didn’t offer a refill… The veggies were barely cooked and had such a strong raw garlic flavor since everything seemed super rushed, not charred at all just smothered with soy sauce. Also when they did the food toss part they only used raw zucchini (no thank you, hard pass!!) all in all I don’t think we’ll be going back mainly for those reasons.

Drove over 30 miles to visit a hibachi restaurant that had more than four stars. Can’t say that I was very impressed with the tableside show or the food. A portion of rice was more than other hibachi restaurants I have visited.
The family that we sat with were regulars at the restaurant and were disappointed when they saw the cook that we had. We later witnessed their favorite cook, and he went out of his way to throw some veggies across the table to them. That was fun to see he recognized them.
My friend that I was eating dinner with said he’s been a much better hibachi restaurants. This was a once and done for me.

This was our first time at Samurai Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse. We were not sure what to expect but our friends encouraged us to do the Hibachi. We were thrilled! From the tasty salad to the Entertainment at the grille, we were impressed. The Shrimp and Scallops were amazing along with the vegetables and fried rice. We will be back!

I’ve only ever ate sushi here and I’ve been more than satisfied every time. A bit on the priced side but don’t mind paying for quality fresh sushi. Service is always fast but the waitresses can be a bit demanding. Good portions. Will try hibachi in the future.

I have been coming here since it first opened years ago before it became Samurai and have always loved their food. Sadly upon our recent order it’s changed only slightly but made it less desirable. We always order the hibachi pick 2 the steak and lobster so it is on the pricer side but we only order it every couple of months for a treat. This time we ordered same as always but there was no flavorable juice/sauce in the bottom like normal so the veggies weren’t as good as they were sitting in just water and the noodles also were dry without the normal flavorful juice. The meal was still good it just wasn’t that flavorful unless eating the steak/lobster.

The food is great. But please train your wait staff. Although friendly, they are coming way to fast to see if we are ready to order. Once we do eat their standing over us and waiting for plates to be empty so they can rush over and take them. Super uncomfortable. Everthing is rushed. Its just not good. Slow down.

First time getting food from here and to say I am disappointed is an understatement! The fried rice tasted like white rice, the meat was bland, and veggies too! All the food was severely lacking for some reason?? I’ve had mall hibachi better than this! Very sad as the reviews made it seem like this place was awesome, but the taste of the food is a total different story!

I have no idea how this place has the rating it currently does (close to five stars). I ordered pickup over the phone. The person who took the order spoke quickly and demandingly. The order was ready exceptionally quickly (which I guess is a positive) but the whole thing was bland. Had the chirashi, hibachi chicken, and shrimp fried rice. On top of the general lack of flavor we found two hairs in our food. Shrewsbury, you deserve better than this.

Omg the food was great and the hibachi chef was very entertaining and friendly. This was our 1st time there and 1st hibachi experience. We will definitely be going back again!
