The staff, as always, are so lovely.. polite, friendly, helpful
Well done Matt and team for a very enjoyable night out
Unfortunately, the fish soup was sold out and oysters weren’t available that day, which was a little disappointing. That said, the brown crab was delicious, the salad was fresh, and both the fried squid and fried whitebait were very well prepared.
The restaurant is stylish, comfortable, and dog-friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable for our family. Highly recommended!
Our booking was for 8pm and had quite a few items on the menu not being available, so one to note especially if there are particular ones you are after.
I really liked the cosy, relaxed nature of the restaurant especially as the London restaurants my date and I tend to go to are very fancy. My date visits this restaurant often so I knew the food would be fantastic.
I’ve added two lots of photos here as we came here once when I came to Bournemouth on my own then once when my daughter came to Bournemouth as well.
I had a lovely salad for my starter and my date enjoyed the fresh crab claws. I knew the fish would be really fresh here. The second time I came here, I had the prawns in a pint glass which were delicious and my date had the seafood chowder as it was a bit chilly. My daughter had the calamari. For my main, I had the Dorset haddock with chilli and seaweed butter which was so nice along with new potatoes and my date had the seabass with roasted almond butter and we had a side salad as well.
My daughter had the coconut tempura prawn skewer along with the Haddock as well, but she had the same chilli and seaweed butter as I had the previous week and my date had the seabass. They both had skinny fries and I had new potatoes again.
The desserts are absolutely phenomenal. My date had the cheesecake and I had the praline brownie the first time around. And on our second visit my daughter was too full for dessert but my date had the cheesecake again and I had the lemon tart which was very tasty.
What I really liked about this restaurant is not only the cosy atmosphere but it was very reasonably priced and the portions were massive as well. I was impressed with the price considering it was a lovely three course dinner, it was reasonably priced and the fish was so fresh. Everything was super fresh. The service is great and I cannot wait to come back here again when I’m down in Bournemouth. ✨
My sea trout was so moist and juicy, it just fell apart delightfully, whilst my husband’s Scottish Plaice was so enormous it took over the whole plate! I can definitely recommend booking a table here, especially if fish is your favourite, and I know we’ll be booking again
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, the food was incredible, 10/10 quality, good portion sizes and well priced.
Service was very good too.
I had lobster bisque as a starter and it was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had, and the bread was amazing.
Would highly reckoned for any seafood lover.
I also went with my partner who doesn’t eat fish and they have non fish options available too.
