Sal is so nice and cool. I’m from NJ and this reminded me of home- kinda teared up. It was so good. Like an amazing slice of pizza. Burnt my top of my mouth. Crispy. Crunchy. Great chew. The dough is awesome. Fluffy. Sauce is sweet and delicious. I like the seasoning.

Absolute best pizza in Sarasota. I have heard Rico’s, Il Panificio, and a handful of others. And I agree that some of those can make a decent pizza, but none of them compare to Sal’s. Consistently excellent, never have to worry about it. Love this place and wish I lived closer or I’d eat there weekly.

Yes, everyone like a different style pizza, Italian sauces. Sal’s is the Best in Gulf Gate. Adding if you like your NJ and NY style, sauce great, mozzarella has to be great quality. Meatball hero and Chicken Parm must try to switch up one time from Pizza.

Stopped in for pizza the other night. We asked for it well done and they cooked it perfect! It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Very reasonable priced as well. Will definitely be back!

Our family of 5 enjoyed a delightful meal here in May 2024. You order at the counter, and carry your drinks and silverware (plastic) back to the table. There appeared to be only 3 people working, but they were efficient. The Caesar salads were some of the best we’ve had, with homemade croutons. We all got different types of pasta, all delicious. Food was piping hot. Dining room had 2 tables for 4, about 4-5 tables for 2. Probably because the ovens were right out front by the dining room, it was very warm inside. Wasn’t sure how much to tip, we ordered ourselves, and carried our own drinks, but they brought us the food. Highly recommend, delicious, home-cooked, food, affordable.

I had several different choices to pick from down in that area there but I picked Sal’s and the reason why is because of the name it’s been around for a long time so I figured I’d try it out it was awesome it was great the atmosphere was awesome the price for excellent too. I would definitely go back I’m going back for the Stromboli but definitely for the atmosphere and the people who own it also I definitely recommend stopping by I’m trying the food out it’s really good, I had the jalapeno poppers and the Philly cheesesteak

The pizza is as close to real Italian Napolitana type pizza I have found in Sarasota, well cooked, crispy, not greasy! The wings are also moist but dry and not fatty….just the way I like them! ♥️♥️

A really chill pizzeria! We loved the Nee Jerseys style!
We had Sals the first night in Sarasota. We got the supreme with garlic breadsticks. We loved it so much we went back two nights later and had the meat lovers! Very good but wish we would have gotten the supreme again!

This is an authentic New York Pizza. They make a fantastic pie and they did a great job with the flavor. We got the margarita pie and it was excellent, good balance of basil and sauce and cheese. Good job!!
