Very mid for breakfast. The chicken & waffles was very standard. Huevos divorciados came with a side of barbacoa that tasted a few days old. Restaurant seemed clean and nice view but the island has much better food for the price.

I’m going to real here, I tried the breakfast buffet and nothing had flavor. It was incredibly disappointing. The view is stunning, the atmosphere is nice, service is kind…but the food is just sad, like you can taste the depression from the cook, either that or just low quality ingredients. Even the omelet with everybsingle ingredient just lacked flavor. It’s unfortunate considering this hotel is a beach front resort. Save your money and find another spot for breakfast.

Awful service and even worse food! Save yourself time, money and disappointment. Go somewhere else! What could be a steller place with amazing views has totally no vibe or spirit. Waited 45 mins to order, food was seriously pre made walmart food re heated up. Waiter was anywhere but helping tables it was so awful and not even busy!

Christmas Buffet 2025. I specifically asked 3 days prior if the prime rib was “prime” beef. I was told yes. So we made plans…no reservations required.
We arrived at 11 am and were told since we didn’t have reservations we would need to sit outside (hot/humid) or in adjacent bar.
We grabbed our plates, got our food, and sat down in the adjacent bar/resteraunt. We had no water or anything else to drink while 3 employees sat at the bar yapping. I approached and asked if we could get 2 glasses of water? The male respoded saying “we only sell bottled water here.”
Anyhoots, my wife went ballistic to the hostess who provided only excuses 15 minutes later with NO SERVICE!
Those lazy wait staff members were directed to provide service to the ppl seated in their establishment and provide beverages!
The prime rib served was by no means prime beef and likely not even choice beef either. It was CHEWY and OVER cooked! No cajun broiled shrimp was offered either as advertised. Instead they served boiled shelled unvained shrimp…disgusting!
I read similar reviews from last years prime rib of not being edible… No learning curve there.
We wont come back.

My recent visit to Windjammer’s Beachfront Cafe resulted in a truly mixed experience. Based on the quality of the food and the heroic efforts of one server, I am settling on a three star rating.

The evening began with confusion. We arrived at 8:30 PM. The closing time was listed as 10 PM online and at our hotel desk, yet a sign in the restaurant stated 9 PM. Despite the late hour, the manager was very welcoming, assuring us we would still be served.

Unfortunately, the service was slow and staff levels were inadequate. We witnessed two separate tables leave the restaurant because of the lengthy wait times. Our frustration grew when a mobile tablet or phone constantly emitted a loud ringing alarm. I am not sure if it was the phone ringer, or alerts for to go orders. This high frequency sound took the hostess far too long to silence and made conversation at our table difficult. Two guests complained loudly about the ringing, and their annoyance was completely justified. You cannot have a $60 steak on your menu and alarms going off like the McDonald’s fries are done.

The entire experience was rescued by Martha. She noticed we had not been helped and stepped in immediately, explaining our assigned waitress was busy. I am not even sure if Martha was a dedicated server or a table busser, but she took amazing care of us. She was clearly overwhelmed but did her utmost to please us, making our evening significantly better.

The kitchen, thankfully, seemed efficiently managed, and the food itself was delicious. On our way out, I shared my appreciation for Martha with the manager. He explained they were caught off guard by the influx of guests in town for a SpaceX Starship launch and the Columbus Day holiday weekend. While I appreciate the transparency, the job of a manager is to know the community and anticipate hospitality staffing needs for major events like these.

The restaurant has good potential but needs stronger operational leadership. The overall rating is three stars: a base of two stars for the poor service and loud noise, plus one extra star for Martha and the kitchen.

Food is ok. Over priced for the quality of food. Fish ans shrimp plate is definitely NOT worth $22.99, should be $15 ..maybe. the chips with beef/Queso was very good. My Appetizer of egg rolls were alright.

BREAKFAST REVIEW.

June 3, 2020, 10am. (All day breakfast served)

Seating was perfect. We had a party of 8 and due to Covid-19 restrictions we were given the option of sitting inside at separate tables or outside together. We chose to sit outside. They have fans that keep the air moving and a nice ocean breeze makes an otherwise warm morning feel very comfortable. You can see the ocean waves and pool from the outside.

Server was amazing. It was a slow morning and she took care of us. She accommodated every request we had without issues.

Food was great! I ordered steak and eggs and they cooked the steak to perfection. The meats are definitely cooked over an open flame which adds to the flavor. Mostly everyone else had the omelets and they all said it was amazing. Portions were generous and some shared a plate and felt full.

Price is very good considering the location. Kids menu ranged $5 – $7. Regular menu $7 – $16.

Blown away by the flavors and quality of our dinner, March 31, 2025. From the Painkiller cocktail, generous pour, to the salads, the freshness and blend of spices was a delight. Prime Rib was prepared to perfection. The coconut shrimp and tropical sauce, asparagus, twice baked potatoes– truly, this was a night to remember– all overlooking the beautiful pool and Gulf. Highly recommended for anyone staying in South Padre. Bin Appetit!

So the lobster and Mac was a disappointment. For 25 dollars to receive the economical version kraft macaroni and cheese was in poor taste. To receive green ranch dressing agai. Is not good especially if you know ranch dressing is white. If one wants to change color of dressing it should clearly state so. I can say the sald was good. The onions and mushrooms after asking for extra onions as opposed to mushrooms was not adhered to. I was sadly disappointed overall for a meal that should not have cost this amount. I don’t mind paying for a steak the presentation and lack of care to food prep would not suggest purchasing.

Breakfast migas were so disappointing! Server recommended them as favorite item. They were horrible – I was served nacho chips with eggs and mozerella cheese on top. Chips got soggy in just a few minutes. Cheese was very stringy. I didn’t eat most of it, but I was still charged full price for the plate.
