This evening was my first time trying out this place. I ordered half a pound of brisket (for my 12 month old infant to eat for a few days) and some brisket nachos for myself. My total with tax and all came out to $25 and some change. The brisket was rich and tender and seasoned so well! The nachos were a great portion size and had a lot of meat. It was so good! I was very, very impressed. But back to that brisket, that has to be some of the best brisket I have ever had. I’m from Houston and just moved to Frisco less than 2 months ago. We have countless barbecue spots in Houston that I’ve tried and I must say, the brisket I tried today takes the crown. The service was great. The guy came out to give me my order after calling my name for it. And the restaurant was clean. I will absolutely be back!

Unfortunately, the food has gone downhill. I got brisket nachos and there was barely any brisket at all, but the queso blanco was pretty good. My husband got the brisket plate. The brisket was good, but the two sides (collard greens and “creamed” corn were not good at all. The creamed corn looked like bread pudding. The tea also tasted like dishwater. Overall, it was overpriced for the sad amount of meat on the nachos and gross sides.
The service, however, was good. Donna provided excellent service. She was patient while we decided what to order and bussed our table for us.

First things first, the food is solid! Everything was cooked to order and the side dishes were very tasty. The beans were rich and smoky and didn’t commit the sin of being overly sweet. The collard greens were a surprise, very fresh tasting and not the least bit bitter. Ordered a two meat plate featuring burnt ends and the poblano cheddar sausage. Very disappointed to only receive three burnt ends and they were drenched in sauce so got none of the tasty crunchy bark. The sausage was good but ate dry.
Service was a mixed bag but improved over the course of lunch. Ordering is via a screen at the counter which I have no problem with, but there were no employees at the counter to give out the cups for the drinks we ordered so was left to my own initiative. May have been a shift change as five minutes later there were employees actively assisting customers.

Oh my goodness! I went through the drive through. Donna was such a joy. She had me laughing & I just kept ordering. She guided me through the menu with great humor. I loved my experience there.

Donna is the best associate I have ever experienced in fast casual restaurant. She is fantastic, great, very friendly and courteous. She made us feel as if we knew all our lives . This was the first experience my friend has ever been to HEB before and she thought the food was great and Donna was fabulous. Cameron is awesome.
