One of the best Starbucks branches I’ve visited!

Tue, Nov 19, 2024, 6:50 AM, stayed for a few hours to work.

Staff:
Friendly, light-hearted, and welcoming, even at such an early hour.
They didn’t just make and deliver orders—they engaged in sweet, brief chats with almost every customer. Loved the positive atmosphere!

Space:
Cozy indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for working, reading, or meeting up.
The environment feels intimate and comfortable.

In the last two days, I had ordered traveller’s box coffee for twelve-people party and everything was perfect, but today for the third time of my same order, I had the worst experience with a new group of staff and a new manager in this Starbucks, 6850 Rosemead Blvd., San Gabriel. They had a very poor service by slighting my order for a traveler’s box of coffee for 12 people again. After I paid for $22, I had waited for 30 minutes and they still did not start to serve my order. I questioned them and asked to talk to their manager. The girl who took my order refused to let me talk to the manager until later the manager came out of her closed-door room. The manager argued that she had to wash some funnels for filtering the coffee box and gave me all kinds of arguments. I told her that I would NOT come back to her store any more. It took me forty-five minutes to receive my order for the traveler’s coffee box finally. I was therefore late to my party.

I love this Starbucks, but I want to complain about all the Starbucks not preparing their drinks according to the company’s standards and therefore driving up food costs with every drink prepared with milk/or alternative milk. I’ve watched them all make blended and iced drinks with a foam. Every drink prepared has so much waste. At the end, either the blender has a lot of drink left that is dumped in the sink, or the foam that was blended in the small mixer is dumped in the sink. They don’t realize the taste of the drink is altered considerably when they’re dumping so much at the end. They either are putting way too much milk or alternative liquid or way too much ice, or both. Which ends up with a drink that doesn’t contain the full amount of coffee, matcha, or other product! That’s not fair and it definitely doesn’t taste good. Why are we paying $6-10. for a “milky icy” drink instead of a coffee, matcha, or other beverage?
Your baristas and employees who help them need retraining. I wish those baristas/employees could taste the drinks they make when they end up with so much still in the blender to dump in the sink! I’ve had to throw drinks in the trash and their managers remake my drinks before. I HATE food waste. It’s really not fair to the company, stockholders, and consumers. Why can’t they just make the drinks correctly?! Lately, I always need to order my drinks with less milk and less ice just so that it all fits in the cup and none of my espresso or frap roast is discarded at the end into the sink!

I am extremely upset! I just visited this location and bought 3 grande drinks and 2 pastries. I specifically asked for light ice on my dragon drink for the reason that you guys always put more ice than the drinks itself and I received my drink full of ice. I finished my drink in 2 drinks from how little drink I was given! I am extremely dissatisfied after the money I spent at your location and especially after specifying light ice! Please be more considerate next time.

Terrible staff/barista here, can’t even make an iced beverage with whip professionally because the whip ran out and the person showed no intention to open a new one to make it right.

Good, fast service–even a few times gave me a drink for free, didn’t have to pay (just their good will–Not Starbucks app discounts)!
They have nice small tables to sit at, and a longer center bar-like table in middle.
Charging plugs for cell underneath the long table, plus 3 or 4 of the small tables have outlet too.
Restroom is always clean.
Play music different styles depending on time of day and who’s working then. (Only small critique is sometimes music’s too loud–can hear it above your own audio if it’s quiet,)

I visited this location through the drive-thru and unfortunately, Selena, who took my order, was very snarky and rude. Just based on customer service alone, I would go out of my way to visit the Del Mar Rosemead location, which offers much better service. It’s really unfortunate for this store
