It was a dead monday or tuesday when I was there. that’s the only reason why the atmosphere got a four. and the service gets a three stars because they wouldn’t make me an old fashion. bixby other than that, the food was spectacular

A true Peruvian cuisine makes you feel like you are in Peru. The food is delicious and the prices are average. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine.

We recently visited New London’s only Peruvian restaurant, CJ Peruvian aka Pollas a la Brasa! They told us they recently expanded, and the bar/dining room area was beautiful. Though they were out of a couple of items on the menu that we were interested in, the waitress was quick to come up with suggestions of other popular dishes. We decided to get an appetizer of salchipapas – though simple, we’ve just never ordered it before and wanted to check it off our list! My fiancé loves a good Pisco sour and was very happy with the one here. The rotisserie chicken was flavorful and served with a delicious side of beans, and I enjoyed my beef with pesto pasta. All of the food came out very quickly!

We stopped in on our road trip from NY to Boston. I tried the jalea/ceviche combo. The jalea was good. The ceviche was Ok, My daughter had the caldo de gallina. She said it was Ok as well. The serving size was more than adequate. My wife had the pollo a la brasa. Overall, we were content. We would go back to try other dishes, as they have a decent variety.

Our second trip to this unassuming gem did not disappoint. The restaurant is split into a bar side and dining room. Plenty of seating. Everything we tasted, the roast chicken, steak, rice, beans, french fries, fried plantains (maduros), and passion fruit juice (jugo de maracuya) was delicious. True Peruvian flavor profile. Warm service in English o en español.

My family LOVES this restaurant!! We were visiting New London to visit the Coast Guard Academy. We wanted to eat at a local restaurant and found Pollos A La Brasa on Google as a highly recommended restaurant. We were amazed by the food! First of all we all got huge portion sizes. The food tasted so delicious and this is the consensus of a family that has very different tastes. Customer service was excellent and the ambience is great. You will be happy with this restaurant! Oh! It is safe for people with nut allergies.

Peruvian restaurant, or an attempt to be a Peruvian restaurant? Whatever it is, it is not a good experience.
The food was non-descripted, very bland, perhaps due to low quality of the ingredients. The fried squid was dried, no flavor. The best thing about that dish is the salad with pickled red onion. We waited a long time for the fried chicken (about 40 minutes); and it was a disappointment. Chicken was dried and flavorless. French fries were the frozen type, thrown in the hot oil at the last minute. Our side dish was fried plantain came closest to deliver the flavor of the region.
Service was terrible. The wait for food was too long, for the food that was not worth waiting for.
Instead of going to CJ, you would be better off going down the road to BJs and get its rotisserie chicken. It is a lot cheaper, tastes better, and without a long wait.

So glad we tried this place. My fiance really enjoyed his soup and was surprised to find half a crab in it! It was my first time trying ceviche and I loved it! Definitely try the passion fruit juice we couldn’t get enough of it.

Food was the bomb!
I went there for my birthday (September 24th and I am libra by the way lol) 5′ 5″
There was only one waitress for like 10 tables.
Food took forever to come. There were so many takeout orders so that was a good sign that this peruvian business is consistent!!! So they must be doing good financially.
Ceviche was ok
Waitress Lady was so frantic I feel bad for her (I I used to be a waiter before so I empathize)
Seafood was AWESOME!!
