This was a huge fail for us. I was shocked because reviews were generally good. The tell tale sign was that the restaurant had only 3 tables occupied at peak dinner time on a Friday at the end of the month.

Everything we ordered was excessively salty and smothered in Japanese spicy mayo or greasy. Why would fresh oysters need a jar of Japanese mayo? Dishes definitely not worth the price. Save money and go elsewhere.

Pisco sours were tasteless and unbalanced.

Our server was unpolished and wasn’t the friendliest.

We couldn’t wait to leave if I’m being honest. The place was dark and sterile.

The only reason that this wasn’t an all-around 5-star experience is because I had to check on part of my order. Aside from that, this place is GREAT! Our server was friendly, and the dishes were both visually appealing and tasted amazing! I’m going to mess up the names, but we had the won ton soup (#yum), the wagyu nigiri, the chicken karage, the chicken fried rice and the sea bass dumplings! The atmosphere is also super swanky as well! If you have the chance to eat here, definitely go!

***Update***

Went back due to such a great experience the first time I went and unfortunately everything went wrong. First thing was both of the Pisco Sour’s, they were both watery. Then after that I ordered the Octopus and although it had the same perfect texture and feel, this time it was quite salty and seemed reheated.

I obviously gave them the feedback and what happened next surprised me quite a bit for a restaurant of this caliber. They just brought out the supervisor/manager who asked what happened and just said sorry. Made a quick joke about maybe the chef having a bad morning and that was it .

Well, they saved us some money at least lol, we left and won’t be back.

Prices are up there and some of the dishes are on the smaller side but everything tasted great

The Pulpo Anticuchero has got to be one of the best Octupus I’ve ever had. It was so tender that you could think it’s something else you’re eating

Cebiche Carretillero was also so freshhhhh. The fried stuff was basic but all of the rest, which is what truly makes up the dish was incredible.

I was really impressed with the cocktails, especially the pisco sours, very strong and great flavors

One of the best Asian and Latino fusion cousine in Panama located at the former Trump Tower in the middle of Punta Pacifica.

As seen in the pics, these were our choices and I would say the plates were very generous, full of flavor and fancy-decorated.

Prices are high but worth the experience.

I’ve been a couple of times but would recommend to go to dine rather than lunch because there’s more social movement and ambiance. You can start your night there and then go to a Pub or bar around.

If the occasion is your birthday, ask for a dessert and it will come with a flare.

Really need Google to add 10-star ratings so I can give this place an 11!! Service was outstanding, our waiter and the rest of the staff were on point. They were picking up plates and utensils, wiping the table, and re-filling our drinks faster than my mom during a family dinner!!! Food was excellent (chef’s kiss). The ambiance was great, and the entire experience was well worth the price. We’ve had more expensive dining experiences but never a better overall experience. 11 out of 10!

At Lima Nikkei, we found delight,
A Panama evening, soft and bright.
Jorge welcomed us with a gracious smile,
His service making every moment worthwhile.

The Caipirinha danced on the tongue,
With flavors bold, fresh, and young.
Buttery octopus, tender, divine,
Each bite a journey, rich and fine.

Fried rice with a savory flair,
Lomo Saltado beyond compare.
A feast for the senses, each plate a song,
At Lima Nikkei, where we truly belong.

This place was a very pleasant experience. The food was fantastic. It was presented well and very unique. Our waiter Andreas went above and beyond with his service. This made the evening special. Plus, we had one of the best deserts that I have ever tasted. Go there……finding the door is a challenge. As a business man, I wonder at the unknown quantity of lost customers because they couldn’t find it or thought the restaurant was closed. I am certain it happens, I was almost one.

The food and service is excellent. However, the listed prices start out high, and then I felt that at every phase of the meal from starters to tip the operation is designed to extract maximum dollars from guests. We did ask about the up charge for real freshly grated wasabi and felt it was worth the $12 for the experience. We were delighted at the large size of the fish filet we ordered for the table to sample until the bill arrived and we realized that they had taken it upon themselves to charge us for 3 servings. Sashimi was some of the best I’ve had and arguably did justify the high price, but the Peruvian dishes were not as good as we enjoyed in Casco Viejo despite costing more. The mixed seafood ceviche included a single piece of octopus and shrimp, the rest being cheaper white fish. I want to be clear, the food is generally quite good, and if the prices were lowered 25% a better rating would be warranted.
