Called doordash right after keep in mind we are still well under the 10 minute mark of my order being placed. DoorDash claimed they cannot refund the order at all and claimed that this restaurant already had the food made and that THEY rejected the cancellation after I had already spoken to them.
DoorDash and this restaurant are playing people. I may have lost out on $70 but would prefer that over risking eating unsafe food. DO NOT ORDER HERE.
I was feeling italian food. Not to brag or anything, but I make the best marinara sauce of anyone i’ve ever met. But I’ve become older. And I’ve become lazier. So even though I am home, I occasionally order food rather than cook. There is an italian restaurant not far from where I live, but they weren’t showing up on Uber eats. (Pizzaria La Sorrentina)
What did turn up on Uber Eats was a place called Sarina’s Italian kitchen. Which, I did not realize, is just a part of McGrath’s fish house.
Bummer.
I ordered my food through Uber Eats. I paid $2 for priority delivery, and I still had to wait for my driver to make one stop before she got to me.
Once again, I made the mistake of ordering food while I was extremely hungry. And I ordered too much.
I ordered sarina’s combo, which is supposed to come with spaghetti lasagna and chicken parm.
I also ordered a Caesar salad. But I somehow ended up with two Caesar salads.
Sarinas chicken Marsala and Spinach dip completed my order
The Caesar salad was good. Fresh crispy romaine lettuce.
The spinach dip with what looked like garlic toast was pretty tasty.
The chicken marsala was nothing special. I remember once many years ago I bought pre made chicken marsala sauce in a can. Just cook your own chicken and fettuccine. Then dump the sauce on, and serve. I guarantee you. This was the exact same thing.
The Sarina combo comes with lasagna, chicken parmesan, and spaghetti in marinara sauce. I’m not Italian, but I’m pretty sure that my spaghetti was actually linguini. And the sauce was just prego canned spaghetti sauce.
But at least it was warm. My lasagna was actually cold. I guess they didn’t microwave it long enough. I could tell by the saltiness that this was frozen prepackaged lasagna.
The best part of the Sarina’s combo was the chicken parmesan. It was actually warm enough to eat and tasted pretty good. Admittedly, I was so hungry that I ate about 1/3rd of the combo before I remembered to take a picture.
We all make mistakes. I made mine. Hopefully, you will read the reviews before you order food.
cooked to order by microwave. Chicken Parmesan was a thin piece of chicken that was over cooked. The garlic bread was burnt, actually charred and they still served it. The chicken Alfredo sauce was so thin it looked like they poured milk over the dish.
This is amazing portion and quality!
I usually don’t leave reviews for Doordash but the cheesy bread, Tortellini, and spaghetti was really good and all the portions were easily for 2 people.
5 stars, give this place a chance
We were craving Italian food and were excited to see an Italian restaurant we’d never heard of on Uber Eats. The prices were good and free spinach dip with our order, yes please! We were starving and excited when the food showed up as the portions were huge and everything looked good. I had gotten the four cheese tortellini and took one bite and something tasted very off. I immediately became suspicious that the food was spoiled. I sniffed it and could smell a funny smell. I opened google to see what was in the dish again in case there was an unfamiliar ingredient causing this taste. Then I came to see all the reviews and found out this is not an Italian restaurant at all, but a ghost kitchen for McGrath’s Fish House. Everything clicked and I realized that funny taste I was tasting in my cheese pasta was FISH! Ew.
My husband’s seafood fettuccini was almost as bad. He said it tasted like nothing but butter.
I will say, the spinach dip was pretty good.
The rest of the food… all $60 worth… ended up in the trash. 2 stars for portion size and the dip but overall this was really disappointing. When you want a yummy Italian dinner it sucks to be bait and switched with fishy food. I’m going to try and get our money back.
