The chef is definitely an expert with sea fishes and he is very warmhearted. We fished some sea bass and we asked several restaurants if they could prepare the fish for us (just scaling the fish, and we would like to pay for this preparation), and Nai Brother is the only one that agreed. The chef not only prepared our fish but also shared with us about his knowledge in sea fishing and types of fishes. He also made Chinese sauerkraut fish and steamed sea bass with our own fish! Definitely would recommend this restaurant as the chef is so professional with fish/fishing.

I found the most amazing, authentic stew house at Sauerkraut Fish restaurant. From the first sip, the broth captivated me with its deep, complex flavors. The owner provided excellent service: when I inquired about pig intestine soup, he expertly recommended the assorted beef tripe with chili sauce and added the intestine to it. The result was pure perfection—a true ‘stewgasm’ of taste and texture. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

It’s such a vibe man. Soup dumplings were amazing. Literally steamy hot and fresh. The guy serving was funny, friendly and even shown interest in our life! Really a 100/100 experience.

We came specifically for the sauerkraut fish and was not disappointed. It was phenomenal and the service was great. You will not be beating this portion for the price. FYI add fatty beef in your soup. Will be coming again!

The food at Nai Brother in Edison was absolutely incredible! I tried both the sauerkraut fish and the tomato fish, and they were both fantastic. The fish was so tender, and the broths were packed with flavor—the sauerkraut broth was tangy and savory, while the tomato broth was rich and delicious. The portions were very generous, and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend a visit!

After coming here twice, I’m ready to declare this my favorite restaurant in Edison. This place is always half empty, which is probably because of the translated name – sauerkrat fish is a daunting name for a foreigner like me, but it’s a shame because this place is AMAZING. So far, I’ve tried the signature sauerkrat and the red pepper spicy broth. My husband and I always order a double portion and leave with leftovers, so it could easily feed 3 people for ~$40. I’ve only tried the flounder as protein, which is fall apart tender, so I can’t vouch for the other proteins. If you like cabbage, pickled mustard greens, spicy, sour, and fish.. run, don’t walk.

Randomly found this place after food shopping one night and its officially our fav spot ! They open late til 1230am ! Jay and his staff members are very welcoming and friendly. Told us their special dishes and what to come back to try next time! We got their green peppercorn broth with snakehead fish recommended by Jay and boy it hit the spot! U can add on toppings and it comes with rice! We enjoyed it so much we are already planning our next late night visit and plan to take the fam here!

I’m so glad I visited this place with my family! We tried the Szechuan Green Peppercorn Soup, Popcorn Chicken, and created our own Stir-Fried Spicy Pot. Every dish was super flavorful and delicious. The portion size was big too. Our favorite was definitely the peppercorn soup—it was a perfect balance of spice and depth.
This was our first time here, and we were super happy by the warm, welcoming service. The staff were incredibly attentive throughout our meal. I’m already looking forward to coming back with friends!
