Tables are all marble and spaced nicely from one another. Serving dishes and platings are classic Punjabi style giving the meal a heightened experience. Servers are friendly, knowledgeable about the food and give you time and space for you to enjoy your meal.
Appetizer:
Singh’s Wings – Mukhni sauced. Tender, flavorful, medium spiced and very enjoyable. 5
Entrees:
Saag Chicken-Balanced flavor, not spicy, generous amount of chicken. 3.5
Singh’s Biryani- chicken, shrimp and potato served in a stone warm pot. Plentiful amount and a nice flavor profile. 4
Tandoori Seekh Kabob – made with lamb meat, spicy and sizzling on a bed of onions. Really portioned nicely and delicious with paratha’s! 5
Desert:
Moong Dahl Halwa – A definite must try! Very smooth and nice buttery flavor. 5
Chai masala after dinner was nice but had way too much masala for us. My husband is from Punjab and we understand the authentic taste of these items. I think you can ask to adjust the masala according to your taste. 2
This trip (pictured) we got veggie samosas, Veggie Biryani, meat me plate, and Mumbai Manchurian. I also got a Lychee Punch which was wonderful. My parents also got the Singh’s golden lager and loved it.
I can’t recommend this place enough – it’s adorable, yummy, and the staff is great!
The place decoration is very cozy and nice and portions are relatively big.
The food overall was okay, but I gave 3 stars because the flavors could be improved. Salt, spice, and citrus are key to bringing out depth in a dish, and the seasoning—especially salt—was missing in many items. Dishes like the Manchurian, fried momo, and Rogan Josh in particular could use better balance in flavor.
This place has a lot going for it: good staff, good setting, and a welcoming atmosphere. If they can refine the seasoning and flavor balance, it could easily move from “good” to “great.”
There were only 8 food choices available which included white rice, saffron rice, samosas, Dal makhani, palak paneer, chana masala I believe, a goat dish, and a butter chicken.
Goat dish tasted very gristly/cartilaginous. Spinach paneer was almost like a puree food, not really a big fan of it. I’ve had butter chicken at multiple places, but something about it tasted off. The sauce tasted a little sour. The samosa was ok, but the inside still tasted a little cold, maybe those were heated up when serving and not made fresh
The Garlic naan was soft, fluffy, and flavorful. Probably the best thing I tasted here. The waiter was kind and checked if I needed anything periodically.
One thing that irked me a little was there was no desert to try.
I’ve always brought friends to Aroma Restaurant in Vernon hills due to a wider selection of foods and better quality. They also have 2 desserts to try as well including one of the best Mango ice creams I’ve had. Looks like introducing new friends to Indian food will be continued at Aroma.
The service was amazing! The staff were so friendly and attentive, and they really made the experience even better.
Let’s talk food because, honestly, EVERYTHING we tried was incredible. We went all-in on the appetizers: the Paneer & Cheese Samosas were crispy and gooey perfection, the Samosa Chaat was bursting with flavor, and the Brussels Sprouts Skillet was such a fun twist—it was crispy, savory, and downright addictive. The Aloo Tikki Chaat was another favorite, perfectly spiced and full of texture. You can’t go wrong with any of these!
For the mains, the Paneer Tikka Masala was a total standout. The sauce was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice. Scoop it up with their warm, buttery Garlic Naan, and it’s pure heaven. The Vegetarian Biryani was also a hit—so flavorful and fragrant.
Now, do not sleep on the drinks. The Guava Cocktail was hands down one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing—just WOW. You need this in your life.
And then came dessert. Oh. My. God. The Rasmalai Tres Leches was absolutely mind-blowing—light, creamy, and so unique. The Pistachio Kheer was equally amazing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness. Both desserts are must-orders, no questions asked.
What makes Singh’s Kitchen so special is how they take classic Indian flavors and give them this modern, creative twist. It’s fusion done right, and every dish feels like it’s been made with so much thought and care.
Seriously, this place is a gem. Whether you’re into Indian food or just looking to try something new, Singh’s Kitchen will blow you away. I already can’t wait to go back!
