Nostalgic bar that is a perfect place to sit and have a few drinks. Didn’t eat but apparently they are making a serious effort at having a decent selection of food. Diverse crowd and you will feel welcome no matter who you are. Glad we stopped by except for the loudmouth Gen Z crowd that arrived who was incapable of complete a sentence without dropping the F bomb. But that’s the world we live in….
Owners seem to have a good grip on what they need to do to succeed and they also have great taste in music. We wish them well and we are destined to return on a weekday.

This is my favorite bar in Carbondale. It has a perfect, not depressing bar atmosphere. Many great performances happen there, of local and touring bands. I don’t very like that they accept only cash, but oh well. They serve food, usually till 8 pm, or something. There are options for vegetarians, menu is changing from time to time. (For my loaded potatoes I had to ask to skip chili because it was not vegetarian) The point is, it’s a classic American kitchen which I don’t appreciate because it’s heavy sandwiches, burgers, gravies, biscuits, potatoes – I am not a fan, but it’s well cooked at least.

Everyone I bring here agrees it’s got the best burger in the area. They offer some truly great menu burgers, but also some weekly specials with all the creativity of you’d see in an episode of Bob’s Burgers, and just as enjoyable to consume. They can be wild, but I’ve never had anything that wasn’t amazing in the couple years I’ve been a patron.
Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, welcoming to all types, with music that never fails to get my foot tapping. Burgers are around 10-11 bucks after taxes currently, beers are very cheap, and they now even have fries, though i usually still go for their subtle yet delicious potato salad! I always order for pickup, and everything is always ready quick. Highly recommend you try this place out. One bite of their burgers will improve your outlook on life.
PS: Last I checked, this place only takes cash, but they have a little ATM inside.

When you go into PK’s, you notice the Pizza King signage prompted us to ask if that’s what PK stood for and it does. Funny thing is they don’t serve pizza. But they do serve an amazing smashburger for a great price. Love the 16 oz cans for cold beers. Sat at the bar near the pool table pool seems popular here.

Passing through as a new customer here. Had the sick burger (special) and loaded waffle fries (waffle fries,chilli, cheese, jalepenos) had 2 beers, both caramel apple cider. The burger was amazing tasting as a special and was small but good. Loaded fries, chilli was canned, no flavor couldn’t taste the cheese or the outlandish jalapeños. Bar tender was friendly with the locals but not others. Especially with 2 guys that were flying the F bombs around out loud and talking about explicitives out loud WITH the female bartender. There is a cussing jar with big words to pay up. But nothing recognized. Its alright bar but dont espect GOOD.
