I liked it. Delicious Udon. Good Tempura. Sushi was fresh and rice not sour. Curry Katsu was mid: curry sauce had strong flavor and the pork katsu too dry.
But overall good lunch!

Can’t believe I haven’t been here before! The whole family is a huge fan of Japanese food, and sasaki beyond exceeded our expectations! I have never had better yellowtail sashimi anywhere else in houston, and the kanpachi was fantastic. Chawanmushi was heavenly smooth, and honestly everything we ordered was amazing. Will definitely be going back!

Had the Omakase lunch and it was excellent! The quality was exceptional, I told the sushi chef (Andy) it was best squid I’ve ever had, incredibly tender. The food kept on coming so the quality was also good.

The service provided by Andy & the owner was warm & hospitable; attentive without being overbearing.

The restaurant itself is older so it shows some wear here & there. It’s not posh & new, it’s comfortable but not fancy.

I always went to Nippon before it closed but Sasaki looks like it could be my new sushi “go to” place

We wish we had known about Sasaki sooner! It’s a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but the service and the food were amazing. I told Chef Andy that it was our first time and that my husband isn’t a big fan of raw fish, but I love salmon. Later, he gave us salmon sushi on the house. How sweet is that! The server, I believe her name was Shu, was also very sweet and attentive. I wholeheartedly recommend this sushi restaurant to everyone.

We loved our experience at Sasaki! We made reservations for a party of 8 and we dined in their private room in the back. For appetizers, we had the chicken and octopus karaage and shrimp and vegetable tempura. They were all fried really well. For sushi, we had the jalapeño yellowtail and the assorted sushi and sashimi plates. All the sushi was fresh, seasoned perfectly and thick cuts. We ended our meal with udon which had flavorful broth and noodles with the perfect bounce. We met the owner who was so sweet and took good care of us. Highly recommend this restaurant, a true hidden gem!

We had such a great time at Sasaki Japanese Restaurant! We came with a group of girls and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We tried several rolls, sushi: toro, and uni — and every single dish was amazing. The fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Our order came out very quickly, and the overall experience was just perfect. Great food, great atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back!

My sister and I did the Omakase, and amazing is a massive understatement. This was hands down the best sushi I have ever had, and I will happily pronounce that I believe this is the best sushi resturant in the city of Houston. Angela, our waitress was so wonderful, and an aboslute joy the entire evening. Chef Andy’s presentation and flavors for each dish were beyond immaculate. I cannot recommend Sasaki enough, and if you’re wanting the best Omakase experience in the city, this is the spot to go.

No other sushi restaurant compares to Sasaki – I cannot believe it took me so long to find them! The hot dishes, the miso, the quality of the fish is top tier. I have eaten here sometimes twice in one weekend – it is that amazing! Everything I’ve tried has been so fantastic. Fresh, flavorful- and the interior is just so cute and cozy. Service is always quick and polite! They have great lunch specials as well.

TLDR 10/10 restaurant, an *actual* hidden gem. I can’t wait to come back! Most authentic Japanese spot I’ve found in Texas and even NYC.

This place has everything I’ve been looking for. For example, it’s been so hard finding a spot in Houston with any zaru soba, and this place has FOUR options! Also, this is the first spot I’ve seen that serves natto, ochazuke, and so many other dishes.

The cozy wooden decor and lovely 80s city pop playlist together were so nice, it reminded me of some of my favorite movies, and easily beats out so many Japanese restaurants I’ve tried in NYC that just play Plastic Love on repeat.

The udon noodles were SO soft-honestly worth coming just for that! The Aji Fry (tempura) exceeded expectations and the Anago sushi was great, too. Angela mentioned they’re imported straight from Japan.

I’m coming back to check out the tatami room, to try the handrolls, and to try out some more dishes I can’t find anywhere else. They also have a cash discount, which is always a plus.
