We ordered the Chongqing Street Noodle (D11) and the Noodle with twice-cooked pork (D10). The portion sizes were good, but there was very little protein in either bowl. Aside from that, the noodles had a nice bounce to them and the broth was flavorful. Just beware that both were a bit spicy if you are sensitive to heat.
Highly recommend, and the vegetarian dishes and noodles are all excellent!
As you leave the host nicely says “See you tomorrow”!! If I had lived there I would go back for the food for sure.
Ordered the pork spareribs, street noodle soup, and noodle beef. Note: both noodle dishes share the same type of noodle so mix it up for variety. overall, The food was delicious but not magic.
Service was great —friendly server
Complimented my nails and we discussed nail art They take your order at your table and you pay before eating which was different. Payment must be made with Cash or Venmo only.
Everything was fresh, fresh, fresh! And you can taste the love in their food! There were mostly Asian people at this Asian eatery–which is a really good sign. They placed a big speaker outside, playing really fun 80’s+ music at just the right volume. Currently, they only have outdoor seating and a bit accepting Apple/Google pay. I admit, the service was a bit slow but not terrible by any means and definitely worth the wait.
There were some regulars while I was there, which the staff knew by name. Pretty cool. I may become a regular myself!
-good location and plenty street parking
-clean and nice outdoor seating
-friendly attentive service
-We ordered the chongqing noodles and it was SO DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! The broth was so flavorful, perfect numbing spice, and the noodles were SO FRESH. These were the best fresh hand pulled noodles I ever had. Just as good when I had them in China. They were light, tender, not chewy like other places, and super fresh.
-Generous portions and extremely fresh ingredients here.
-The owner was so friendly and nice.
Can’t wait to come back here again !
I got the D11 – Chongqing Street Noodle and it was better than the cold noodles (D12 – Huangcheng Cold Noodle )–but that’s because I’m not really a fan of cold noodles to begin with. There was ground meat and a couple of veggies in the bowl along with the peanuts which actually added great flavor to the meal. The cold noodle did not have any protein, which made it a little disappointing.
The interesting part about the experience is that you’re expected to pay either in cash or venmo after ordering. I only thought it was strange because it was a sit down restaurant and not a place where you order and take the food to a table.
They also will give you a stamp card if you’re a person that will frequent, where after 10 noodle bowls, you’ll get 1 for free.
~~Service: Fair. There were no condiments present on the table because we sat outside, but needed more than just the 1 napkin provided and it was a little hard to get the attention of the server.
~~Best Part: Texture of the hand pulled noodles.
~~Return: Probably not.
The overall dining experience wasn’t much better.
1) There are a couple reviews where they said credit cards were accepted (they told us cash only)
2) They wanted our money up front (weird since we’re doing sit-down not take out)
3) The total was a bit over $41 and we handed $50, which they left with and moved on (never told us they’re coming back to give us the change)
4) We eventually asked for our change and they only gave us the bills (they shorted us by keeping the coins)
We would’ve given them the coins anyway but that option should fall back on us and not their assumptions. The service soured the whole experience.
Everything was delicious! The dumplings came with a chili dipping sauce. The dumplings were soft with a lovely texture and delicious filling. Then the soup arrived, piping hot and aromatic. The noodles were both soft and chewy and had a lovely flavor that complemented the soup perfectly. The two soups were unique and different from each other and both were wonderful and the portions were generous. The spice level was perfect.
The service was great – prompt and helpful but then we were left to enjoy our food at a relaxed pace while enjoying the nice summer afternoon in their outdoor seating. Our only regret is that we wanted to try more things from the menu but, because of the generous portions, we had some to take home and now have to go back to try more.
I am looking forward to left overs tomorrow and for when we can return!
Highly recommended!
