Just looking at these burgers coming off the grill makes the wait that much harder. This place is hopping today but the staff seems to be moving quickly and efficiently. Got my to-go order in a short amount of time. Nicely done!

Under staffed. If they paid workers more it would give employees more incentive to actually work. Service is slow. Generally a good place to go late at night, as most other places are closed, but I would not go most other times. The good is delicious and the shakes are incredible. The quality of the food is great and the prices are low, but the service makes the experience a poor one.

Service was good and food arrived quickly. This would be great for a quick bite or short lunch for time. $3 value meal is available but I would go for the full menu item as the value burger is a little lacking. Great for kids or a very small appetite. Wide variety of shake flavors. Many people know you dip those skinny fries into your shake for a salty sweet experience.

Walked in at 5:30 on a Friday night. The place was nearly empty 80% of the tables still dirty with dishes, waited 5 minutes just to get seated at a dirty table smeared with katsup… She said let me clean that, never came back. Waited 5 more minutes and no one ever came to our table. 7-8 employees standing around in back doing nothing. I got up and walked out. Filthy restaurant with terrible service. I had no intention of eating their food after looking at all the dirty tables around me including the one they sat us at. A drive thru customer was coming in as we left because of a wrong order. I’ll never go back there.

I used to love late nights at steak and shake with friends but things have gotten worse. The service is incredibly slow at all times. The floors are somehow wet from mopping and still sticky from all the spilled grease 24/7. At this point I’m not even sure I would try their drive thru or online orders anymore. There are simply many other better options available in the area that are in the same price range.

I don’t blame the employees, they’re always understaffed. Like come on, who ever is managing this has been for years screwing over the employees working by having no one there. They always seem stressed and overwhelmed. I feel bad complaining about the bad service and absolutely ridiculously long ticket times. Because there’s nothing more the employees can really do. I’ve worked in resturaunts for years, I get it, ticket times get long and quality goes down during rushes. but this place never has fast service or good quality. This place is never correctly staffed to handle amount of orders. I don’t blame the staff, it’s clearly a management problem. Whoever is financially responsible for this place needs to correct whoever is running this place. Everyone around the area knows the steak n shakes on manchester always suck. Not to even mention the constantly missing food.

What a joke. Three different people served us. Two were grouchy women who clearly didn’t want to be there, and the other was obviously the manager because everyone else sucks at their job. What I originally ordered wasn’t available, and same goes for someone else I was with. The food might be cheap, but you get what you pay for because the burgers are terrible and the fries taste like cardboard. Second time ever coming to steak and shake, last time ever coming to steak and shake.

Steak and shake needs new management. Was my favorite place to go….was is operative word. It good fast food….now it’s not fast or good. French fries lukewarm….service is poor. Not all locations…because have tried several. But seems to be no one is in a hurry to wait on you.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Stood at the door for multiple minutes before being sat down. The waitress only checked on us maybe twice the entire time we were there. Ordered the Cajun fries, got a pile of Cajun on maybe ten fries and whenever I asked for them to be fixed the waiter told me “that’s how they come” and then proceeded to yell throughout the entire restaurant how “I (as in me) must have thought they came in a bag seasoned and it’s a shame because those are their best fries”. The entire time we were there, we heard more about the employees personal lives than I ever wanted to know. I can’t even put into words how crappy this experience was, and wanted to stop the people coming in the door to save them some sanity.

Arrived 2230. Although only 5 patrons were seated, no clean tables were available. Took 15 min to clean and clear table for 3. Ordered stkburgers and shakes. Never got shakes. Cancelled shake orders after eating and waiting 10 minutes after we finished eating. The crew seemed to be having a good time! Customers were not. Inexcusable condition of eating area and service. Chesterfield mgr and entire crew need to be replaced!
