I’ve been to Rosa a few times now and have really enjoyed each experience! The first time was an event where I got to try several of their delicious cocktails and loved the vibe and decor. I knew I had to get back to try more of the food, because I had heard from a couple of the staff that the salmon is delicious, and that’s a go-to entree for me so I had to try it to believe it!

You always start off with perfectly salted chips and yummy salsa, and can add on delicious tableside guac if you’re up for it! They stick with the original recipe, which doesn’t include salt or lime, but of course if you’d like to add it they’ll get if for you. The avocados were perfectly ripe both times I had the guacamole and everything here is always so fresh!

We went on Valentine’s Day and it was packed! They even had a violinist playing which was a great touch! I had the Salmon Pipian, bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. This was my first time ever ordering a salmon entree at a Mexican restaurant, and I was not disappointed! There was a bit of a delay for the food coming up, but they really were packed and there was a huge party at the table next to us. As we were ready to order another drink, another came out as they were aware the food wad taking a bit long. No complaining or talking to a manager necessary, they were very aware of what was going on, and we appreciated it!

Oh!!! Hey!!! Taco orders are half-price on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday! We tried 4 kinds after finding out about this deal and we didn’t find one we wouldn’t order again! I actually wanted to go back the following Tuesday, I didn’t, but believe me I will be soon!

Because it was so hectic on Valentine’s Day and our fabulous server still remained cool and calm and took great care of us, we requested to be in his section the next week for taco Tuesday. Shout out to Cesar who never shows a sign of stress, no matter how crazy it gets or how big and demanding a party is in his section! If you go in and he’s working, ask if there’s availability in his section and enjoy the experience.

Rosa Mexicano is a vibrant and festive restaurant with a great vibe. The atmosphere is lively, and the live music adds to the overall experience. The decor is colorful and fun, with unique touches that transport you to Mexico.

However, the wait time for food was a bit long. We waited for more than half an hour to get our food, which was a bit frustrating. That being said, the food was worth the wait. The dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, and the portions were generous. The guacamole was especially delicious, and it’s made tableside which was a nice touch.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, and they worked hard to make sure that we had a great dining experience. They were attentive to our needs and made sure that our drinks were refilled and that we were comfortable.

Overall, Rosa Mexicano is a great spot for a lively night out with friends or family. The atmosphere is fun and festive, and the live music adds to the overall experience. While the wait time for food was a bit long, the dishes were delicious and well-prepared. If you’re in the mood for Mexican cuisine and a fun night out, Rosa Mexicano is worth a visit.

What a fun place to venture to for brunch. The margaritas were made well and we even got a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. My friend and I had different tacos and were not disappointed. We also enjoyed the guacamole and the salsa had a smoky taste to it. We enjoyed our experience here.

Generally, a pretty average dining experience for a Tuesday lunch service. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived and yet the service was very slow to get our food. They didn’t have the empanadas available, which is always a frustrating experience. The enchiladas come bathed in a trio of sauces without any regard for how a diner wants them or doesnt want them. The chile relleno has very little cheese and quinoa is completely unnecessary in that dish. The churros were the saving grace for our lunch today. Overall, average experience and you’re going to pay Blue Back prices for it.

Celebrated a birthday here yesterday— first of all, the service was AMAZING. It was an honor to have the owner wait on us. Julie provided excellent service, she was so kind to my family & I. Julie went above & beyond- I hope she’s there again when we come back.

Nice atmosphere.

For dinner we ordered the tampiquena & the chile relleno with rice, beans, plantains and sautéed spinach. I really enjoyed the tampiquena— the steak was cooked perfectly. The chile relleno & rice lacked a little flavor.

Generous portion size for the kids meals. The kids quesadilla with chicken was really good. They also eat free with an adult entree purchase, which is a bonus.

For your birthday you get to wear a sombrero & they bring out fresh churros (which were really good!) for the table.

I will be coming back again.

Rosa Mexicano couldn’t have picked a better spot for their first Connecticut location! I love the neon signs and pop of pink for Blue Back Square. With a little bit of a beachy theme, you kind of forget it’s not summer outside! I appreciated their mocktail options, and I had a very tasty guava drink, while my fiancé enjoyed their signature pomegranate margarita. We started with the guacamole tasting, which I was impressed by because you don’t even see these toppings, let alone a tasting option, on many Mexican restaurant menus. They also make the normal guacamoles tableside, which was nice to see. Our next appetizer was the nachos, and I appreciated that literally every chip had a thick layer of toppings. There’s nothing I hate worse than a basket of nachos with a top layer, and then plain chips underneath. Though the portion size may seem smaller than normal nachos, the toppings more than made up for it, and we were stuffed just from that! I did like that there was an option to add queso to literally anything on the menu, but the way it was worded, it sounded like the queso would be poured tableside. I was excited when we ordered the nachos to see them pour it for us, but instead we were handled a little pitcher of queso and poured it ourselves. Not a big deal, just thought it was strange that it said “let us pour queso on for you”. My duck carnitas tacos weren’t bad, and my fiancé enjoyed his dish of Mexican garlic shrimp, which I haven’t noticed before on menus in the area. For sides with our meal, we shared the plantains, which were great, and the rice and beans. If I had to pick a weak point, it would be the beans – we both picked up on an amaretto/almond flavor that was kind of off putting. We noticed it a little on the nachos and thought it was the beans, and it became obvious when we had them in the side order. We shared the tres leches for dessert, which was huge, but delicious! The service was attentive, and I appreciated that our server wiped down our table between courses. The vibe made it fun to hang out here, and overall, it was a good experience!

Taco ‘bout a great way to start off the new year with my first in-person Yelp Elite Squad event of 2023 at Rosa Mexicano! There were plenty of tasty cocktails like a frozen pomegranate drink, spicy cucumber, classic margarita, sangria, and my favorite, the spicy mango drink. I enjoyed the table-side guac, salsa, and the appetizers (crab cakes, flautas, and empanadas) were delicious! The perfect end of the meal dessert were the delightful churros with chocolate or strawberry sauce (or you’re like me, both!). I was so happy to chat and connect with my fellow CT Yelper friends and to meet new friendly foodie faces. Badge day was awesome, I hope to receive the exclusive Yelp black badge for dedicated Yelpers (10+ years) one day! Shoutout to Alex and new Yelp intern, Kaylee for hosting such a great get-together, can’t wait for the next one! Cheers to another fantastic year of food, friends, and fabulousness!

Nice atmosphere, food was very good and reasonably priced. Service was good, just a little slow. The tres leches was more strawberry shortcake than tres leches, which was very good for strawberry shortcake, just not what I’m used to for tres leches. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We avoided going at first because they had a few bad ratings BUT they clearly worked all that out. The ambience is super fun, the drinks are yummy and every dish we have is amazing!!!

I have been getting the Enchilada tasting the last few times but spiced things up per our amazing Bartender’s recommendation. We did the duck leg carnitas and the Parradillas for 2, both were out of this world. I was hesitant to order the duck but I will be getting it every time I go from now on!!
