Housed in an old cinema, Alexander has a beautiful ambiance. The chef uses seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to create incredibly delicious food. The freshly baked bread (with butter infused with olive oil) and Parmesan crisps are fabulous! Great selection of wines too!

Very pleasant dinner at Alexander Ristorante, the dishes were flavorful and very creatively presented. The restaurant is set in a previous movie theater, the owners decorated it in a very clever way; the lighting, the colors, the seating, the space in general; making this place look comfortable and modern enough to make you feel a welcome guest at their home.

The food is good (not great), though a couple dishes didn’t quite hit the mark. Considering it’s a small portion/Michelin-type place, if a dish or two isn’t solid, it leaves some people hungry.
Mosquitos… The fact we were fighting off mosquitos in a dining room is not good nor fun. After killing off 3 with quick reflexes, things subsided until the door was left open again and we had to fight them off again at desert.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday during our short stay in Ravenna and I couldn’t be happier. The food was really delicious and the service was exceptional. We can only recommend it.

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant but I had a service issue. We showed up at the stated opening time, and the restaurant was indeed open. It was also completely empty. After waiting a little while, someone finally comes to the door. “Do you have any table for us?”. The reply was curt: “Come back in twenty minutes”. No explanation, nothing.
I would perfectly understand , of course, to be told that they are fully booked. But this attitude simply showed no interest whatsoever in new custom, which set all alarm bells ringing for these seasoned restaurant goers. Service is an important part of the hospitality business.
We turned the corner and settled for what turned out to be a very decent trattoria instead, reserving fine dining for another day.
EDIT: after reading the response of the restaurant, which does not hesitate to distort the truth (we were there after the opening time – we even have a time-stamped picture of the place!) I am even happier to have given it a pass, as their professional integrity does not look of the highest caliber…

Three of us, we went there on a rainy cold evening at the end of September. Getting in was an overwhelming pleasure starting with kind invitation and friendly smile of the owner. Interrioirs are great, tables large and fitted by confortable, embracing chairs. Menue is reasonably short but rich enough to excite every curious and cultivated palate. Let the wine choice be suggested, the staff is highly experienced to select the bottle which will be in harmony with your meal. Service is kind and excellent.This was an unforgetable dinner. We shall come back!
