There are not a lot of quick food options around Mechanicsville, so this store has a large role to fill. We have been ordering pizzas for years, and I don’t recall any issues with food quality (quite the opposite actually). They get busy sometimes (once again, large role they are filling) so you may have to wait a few minutes for pickup, but I’ve never felt the wait to be excessive. The employees usually greet you and tell you to have a nice day. As for the really negative reviews on here, I would consider these experiences to be outliers and not representative of the average visit. Long story short: this store is great!

Most times this store has been exemplary. Tonight on St. Patrick’s day, I walked in to a nightmare in the kitchen. I showed up 5 mins after my pizza was supposed to be ready. I wound up waiting for an hour for a small pizza. When I left, there were 7 people waiting for their pizzas. The longest had been waiting for over an hour.
Only 2 people were in the kitchen. One knew what she was doing and was working with a sense of urgency. The other one was obviously new and was being trained.
When a suggestion was made, several times, to the cashier Alek, to call the manager for help, she just apologized and said there was nothing anyone could do due to a limited budget. She refused to contact anyone for help.

We used to stop here to get food when we travel…generally once a month. Most of the associates are nice, but twice, a young man making pizza was rude. The last time we went there he was doing things for the case. I told him that I needed a sandwich quickly because my husband is diabetic and has the shakes. He told me that he needed to cut pizza first. (It was just coming out of the oven). So, I waited nervously while he cut it, put containers together and put it in the case…probably 10 minutes. Then, I asked if he was done. He said that he had 2 more to do first. I could not believe that, after I told him that my husband had the shakes, he was going to make us wait that long. We left and went down the road to get him something. This young man is rude and not very bright.

Staff are usually REALLY nice folks 99% of the time which is a big plus anywhere you go nowadays. My issue is solely in regards to food pickup time. You can order on the phone, or through the app and it doesn’t matter. You will be waiting at least another 10-15 minutes after you arrive at whatever time you are advised.

The only gas station that was open just before midnight in the entire northern half of cedar county. Drove all around 2 towns on our way here and couldn’t even find a stocked pop machine. Definitely saved my night being open late.

The men’s bathroom is nasty. Every time we’ve been to the Casey’s in Mechanicsville my husband has to clean the stool b4 he uses it. The service wasn’t good today.
