My fellow Americans,
Today I want to share my recent experience at Panera Bread at 152nd Street.
Let me begin by saying that the employees were fantastic—professional, kind, and doing the best they can. My concern is not with them.
My issue is with shrinkflation—and at this point, I’m not even sure the word fully captures what Panera Bread is serving. For a restaurant chain that began in The United States, at a time when we are shaped by poverty and struggles, you would think they would understand the importance of giving customers real value for their money.
If you look at my photos, I ordered the large Toasted Garden Caprese. Well it you look at my pictures the “Large” has ONE small piece on each side of mozerella cheese. I mean it’s a large that piece did not even cover a quarter of the portion of the bread it was sitting in. That is unacceptable. Americans helped build the Panera Bread, and in return, nothing about the food should be shrinking.
This is a disappointing moment for customers nationwide, and Panera Bread needs to do far better with their meals, and their sides. I’m.sorry but No one can reasonably eat this and walk away satisfied. The last picture is how they advertise it, the other pictures are what I drastically received. I can’t wait to see if and how they respond. That was the worst $20.00 I have spent for lunch on an average Americans salary in this shrink-flation era…

I am beyond disappointed with this Panera location. I’m not sure if the entire company’s quality has declined or if this franchise is just particularly bad, but my experience was absolutely unacceptable.
I ordered two Avocado Chicken Melts, a BBQ Chicken Sandwich, and a Mac & Cheese, only to wait a ridiculous 30 minutes for my food. When I finally received my order, I was shocked by the embarrassingly low quality of the sandwiches, barely any chicken, half rotten avocado, and portions so stingy it was insulting.
To make matters worse, I paid a staggering $46 for this. Imagine my frustration when I got home to my family and had to present them with pathetic, overpriced scraps instead of a real meal.
This is completely unacceptable, and I will never return to this place. To anyone considering eating here, save your money and go somewhere that actually respects its customers.

Don’t get the smokehouse chicken sandwich. It barely comes with any chicken. They told me they can only put 2oz of chicken for that sandwich. I know it’s not the employees fault and I appreciate them doing their best to make sure I enjoy my meal. But corporate needs to do better.

We had ordered food to-go and when we got there we tried using one of the kiosks and the card reading machine. So we switched to a different machine inputed out whole order again. The kiosks said that they were out of ingredients and showed us which ones they were out of and we were fine with that we were warned before and had accepted it. However once we got our sandwiches much more was missing such as the chipotle Chicken Avocado which they were out of bell peppers which we knew and where fine with however we got not a single slice of avocado and nothing had said they were out and they also gave us some random bread on the sandwich that was not at all what we had asked for. Then we also had ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich I had order it with Country Rustic bread and got some random slice of bread that wasn’t even close to the bread i asked and also got less than 4 small slices of chicken. Then we also ordered a Ciabatta Cheesesteak which had little to no cheese didn’t come with onions which we were not aware of and no peppers which we knew about it also came with some random bread we had not ordered. Lastly we ordered an onion soup which we threw away for tasting sour and old. We had a horrible experience with the food and its not the first time every time we went the food always has a problem but this was the last straw. Panera has become one of my consistent go-tos for take out as of late. I had my regular brocili and cheese soup with a half cibiata steak cheese sandwich . I like this particular location because there is ample parking more than most.

After recovering from the flu, I was craving their Chocolate chip chippers. I picked them up thru the drive thru and noticed when I got home that they were hard as a rock. I called and spoke to Manager, Jorge Santos and he took care of the issue quickly. He made me fresh soft baked cookies the way they usually are and apologized for the inconvenience. Now that’s what I call, amazing customer service! Thank you Jorge Santos and the cookies are delicious.

I had a very unprofessional experience at this Panera during an Uber Eats pickup. The employee at the front counter was actively playing on a Nintendo Switch when I arrived. When I stated that I was there for a delivery pickup, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior, as if I was interrupting something more important.
Whether it’s 8 in the morning or 8 at night, delivery drivers deserve the same level of professionalism and respect as any other customer. This was disappointing and should be addressed by management.
