I’m usually a fan of Kim’s Chinese Food Restaurant. However, three days ago I ordered a dinner shrimp egg fu Yung at the drive thru.
After waiting for approximately 20 minutes, I proceeded to the drive thru. The Chinese lady at the window was very rude and short with me. In fact, after I paid for my food she literally threw the bag at me when I asked her for extra onions and dark rice.
Needless to say, none of my requests were honored. This is preposterous! After opening the lid to my food, the temperature of the food was under warm, the proportion of shrimp egg fu Yung to rice was ridiculous. All dark rice and two (2) sorry looking shrimp egg fu yung pattie. I counted four (4) small shrimp. The egg rolls were disgusting as well. My eggroll was cold and soggy. My food looked and tasted disgusting, as if it were thrown together at the last minute.
Someone needs to talk to the establishment at Kim’s Chinese Restaurant. The quality of good quality Chinese food here has gone down significantly. Needless to say, my meal cost over $12.60.
After driving home, I was too disgusted to waste time at the drive thru to return my meal. Lesson learned. If you can’t take my friendly critique of made-to-order food from the general public, you need to either need to step up the quality of food services to your customers or close up shop!
We pay too much money to be served mediocre food. It is unacceptable! When you know better, you do better!

Idk if they changed cooks or what. But I came out of my way to get this food and it has completely changed. My food tasted old. The chicken smell old and was fried soft. I got 5 wingettes. 3 legs and 2 wing pieces. The rice was so bland and looked and tasted old like somebody just threw it together. Ive never had to add sauce to my rice here. I couldnt even eat it bc I thought I would get sick. Waste of my $20. Please bring the old cooks back!

Kim’s changed to call in order and pickup but still have the same great taste and fast service. They pack the food well and tell you how to carry to reduce spills. The egg foo young is my favorite with the best gravy I’ve ever had at any Chinese Restaurant. I also got Lomein and fried wings. The Large can feed a family of 4. They are all friendly giving service with smile.

Very confusing when ordering. There’s a drive thru but you have to call ahead or order online first. There needs to be a bigger sign to call or place order online first. I ordered chicken wings and white rice. The chicken wings are fried perfectly! But there was absolutely no flavor in the wings. The rice was cooked perfectly but again zero flavor. The soy sauce gave it some flavor but ultimately this food was a disappointment. I did get the sweet tea assuming it was going to be the container tea homemade but this tea came in a styrofoam cup and it was powdered tea. Also disappointing. Years ago this place was the only go to Chinese restaurant. Food was flavorful. Not sure what happened over the years.

Spent 4 days in Hampton VA . Best food i had was Kim’s Chinese. Had dinner at 5 star fine dining restaurant that taste like dog food compare to Kim’s. Large portion of food, fried & steam dumplings excellent, shrimp in lobster sauce excellent, shrimp roll ok.
