The food was delicious. They were able to adapt any dish (but the pasta) to Gluten Free for my allergy. The cocktails are next level. The staff was attentive and so on top of things. Awesome experience, we already decided we will be back!

This is how a steakhouse should be done. The tomahawk was cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and clearly high-quality meat.

The menu offers classic options with just the right amount of creativity, and nothing felt overdone or trendy for the sake of it.

The dining room is comfortable and inviting, the service was excellent from host to server, and it was a pleasure to see the chef engaging with guests.

We’ve tried most of the restaurants on Sutter Street, and this one stands out. RARE delivers quality, consistency, and an experience worth returning for.

Yager Lodge had the vibe. Cool lodge feel, and the drinks definitely stand out. Huge shoutout to our bartender Rachel, super friendly and clearly a craft cocktail connoisseur. She made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit

Great experience they took old Yeager’s bar and turned it into a destination. You feel like you are walking into a beautiful log cabin with art on the walls that look like windows looking out at a lake. And the food was great. We had the salmon and a salad and both were so good. We had folsom 75 cocktails and they did not disappoint. Service was good too. Perfect place for a special night, or like me when you don’t want to cook and really want to eat something special. Old town has some good restaurants but this is the best one by far!

Everything was exceptional from the service, to the food. The whole experience was very warm and inviting. My husband and I had the salmon and the filet, both cooked to perfection. The salmon dish had so many complimentary flavors we couldn’t stop talking about it. The filet melted in my mouth and came with a crisp onion garnish that brought out the perfect flavors of the steak. The gravy was very savory and smooth on top of the best bed of mashed potatoes. You can tell that this food was made with fresh ingredients and a lot of experience. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We came in around 4:15pm on a Saturday and told the host we just wanted to grab a drink. We were immediately told there was a 15-minute wait just to sit at the bar because only one bartender was working. We decided to wait since it’s a new establishment — and I should note, the place was not busy at all.

About 10 minutes later, our drink order was taken outside, and we were eventually seated at a table near the bar. Then… nothing. Twenty minutes passed, still no drinks. When we checked in, the waitress said the bartender was just finishing them up. Another ten minutes later, still nothing.

The bartender, no offense, was moving at a glacial pace — it genuinely looked like his first day on the job with no sense of urgency. When we checked in with another staff member, we were told our drinks hadn’t even been started. At that point, we decided to leave.

Overall, the staff seemed completely indifferent that we were walking out. Disappointing experience all around.

First time here and drinks took absolutely forever. Would say on average anywhere from 20-30 minutes for a drink not even exaggerating. It was not busy at all and our server was nice but she would disappear then come back saying sorry the drinks are taking awhile etc. As a server myself if drinks are taking that long I would be loping in management to see what is going on. I had three drinks and honestly wasn’t impressed with any of them. The drink with the marshmallow needs a better presentation. Can easily make it better by maybe toasting the marshmallow or have a better appeal to it. Tasted like chocolate milk. The layout of the place is cool but drinks should be coming out in a ten minute time frame bare minimum.

This place should easily be 4.5 stars or above — which is pretty excellent in my book. The food is delicious, and even if the food was not that great (which everything I have had is) the service from the staff would make up for that difference. Everyone there is so kind and accommodating. I’ve been there twice now and the 2nd experience was even better than the first. I got two cocktails that had wine note or wine in them, the artichoke crostini’s, lamb leg (2nd time having that — YUM!), and the s’more’s cheesecake, which you’d think the chef got from a baker — but no! He makes it himself. I hope people continue supporting this spot. It’s got a really cool aesthetic, lovely staff, and delicious food a drink. What more can you ask for from a restaurant? Go and enjoy! You won’t regret it.

Or, ya know, if you do regret it send a private message to the restaurant with helpful feedback. We need to support local business, not tear them down when we act like entitled food critics.

Cheers!

This place has an unfair rating currently IMO. It should be setting much higher. Came here with some friends for the first time not expecting much and ordered the pork tenderloin. I was blown away with how good it was. The restaurant itself is great. Good ambiance and unique drinks with some real thought put into them.

Food took a while before it came out due to a large party. But the food was worth the wait. The presentation was pretty and good quality.
.
Trio seafood platter which was great. Love the fresh taste of ceviche with shrimp. They had great oysters with a mignotte sauce. As well the blackened seared ahi tuna was fresh. Loved how it was served in a toolbox box.
.
Lamb leg on a plate with mash potato which was creamy and yummy. Loved how the plate look like a Christmas dinner. Loved the fresh broccolini and pomegranate sauce too.
.
Great seafood pasta with pesto. The pasta is home made. The sauce is creamy. Loved the generous portion. For the seafood.
.
Also loved the great environment which looks like a ski lodge like your up in the mountains having dinner at a friend’s place. Love the fancy cocktails here, one had a bubble with a smoke when it pops. As well the smoked bourbon cocktail which was strong and presentation was amazing. Overall I will be back to enjoy a nice dinner with friends in soon. Hope this helps and thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day.
