Have been coming here for decades and love the vibe, the staff, and the food!
4.5 stars for the food – really good lunch options. Wish they had more soup varieties but the couple we tried were very good. Pretty bare bones on the plating but it satisfied my family of 5. Clean plates all around! And shockingly good fish/chips. The fish was super tender/flaky and a great batter.
5 stars for the service – couldn’t have been nicer. Quick, attentive, and friendly.
4 stars for the atmosphere – feels a bit like a cafeteria but, honestly, that’s what makes it charming to me. Doesn’t take itself too seriously like other places in Leavenworth tend to.
5 stars for the prices – given that this is a resort/tourist town it is super reasonable. No complaints here!
Highly recommend (just be careful during peak season – it, like many of the other places in town, can get slammed quick)

Excellent and friendly staff. Very blah and unappealing atmosphere: all fluorescent lighting, no music, and the whole dining area is carpeted and has a strange/bad smell. This place could be cozy, inviting and cute with new lighting, a good clean/deodorizing and some music – just some attention to the vibe. $12 for a very average overpriced salad …soup was ok but didn’t taste exactly homemade. Just ok.

It’s in the basement or cellar. In hindsight, I wish we had eaten above gound. Lol The smells were strong. Service was fast and friendly. I got the Whiskey Steak Chili. I don’t think there was any meat at all. It was essentially beans and not very flavorful either. My husband got the bean and ham soup and a sandwich. He wasn’t impressed with his soup at all. Again, no flavor. There’s were just tiny bits in it. Where’s the meat? Very pricey for what we got. Again, the service was nice.

The food looks sad and tastes so so. My vegetarian burger is dry. Everyone else’s food looks underwhelming. The tomato basil soup is good. The wait isn’t 5 hours like at other restaurants on a super busy day in Leavenworth but that’s probably because it tastes so bad compared so most people don’t come here. One white waitress was very rude and discriminatory. 5 of us got to the front, one person was about to place an order for everyone, I went ahead and found ourselves a table and sat down. Immediately, she came and asked if my dog was a service dog and said that I couldn’t sit down before paying, and she also needed to sit other people first before I could be seated WHEN THERE’S ANOTHER AVAILABLE TABLE near the back wall. Not sure if she targeted me because I’m Asian or disabled but that’s so rude. The other 4 people were literally in line, about to pay. I didn’t want to deal with an inconsiderate person so I stood up and walked away from that table. When we eventually sat down, a different waitress serving the table next to ours is nice and warm to those customers, I felt unlucky. When I went to use the bathroom before we left, there was a line and barely any space so I held my dog in my arms, and received a nasty look from another customer standing next to me. That same rude waitress happened to be right there as well and they exchanged an unpleasant conversation. I left the place right away instead of waiting in line.

Not a bad little place. Their salad bar was decent. The sandwiches don’t normally come toasted but they were happy to toast mine when I requested it. Sandwich was very dry, it needed mayo or something added to it. I would not recommend their iced tea, it tastes fermented. Very friendly staff. I wish they would play some music or something because it is dead quiet in there except for the sound of the cooler running. Not wheelchair accessible.

Husband got the sausage platter with saurkraut and potato salad. It was really good! The potato salad was more like a really good potato casserole. I got the broccoli soup in a bread bowl. The bread bowl upped the experience of the soup. We got a huge pretzel with cheese. The pretzel was so good! Ignore any bad reviews about that, they are definitely wrong! It’s chewy with a bit of crisp on the outside. The beer cheese is light on the beer flavor, which was perfect in our opinion. I put some of the cheese in my soup, and that improved it as well. The soup is probably not super amazing, but a great comfort food. I enjoyed all we got! I’d go again!
