Been here a few times in the past, but I think its time for their review. The food here is pretty good. I usually get their burger but the Poor Boy is really scrumptious. Also, pretty sure the place is family-owned so that’s a plus.

First time at Poor Boy Subs — and we’ll definitely be back! I got the gyro and my husband had the Chicago dog, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. But what really stood out was how extraordinarily nice everyone was — truly some of the friendliest people we’ve met anywhere. Great food, great service, great vibes!

The food is great, but the personality of everyone here is what really makes this a great place to go. They always treat you with kindness and respect. They always go above and beyond to make you feel appreciated. This is a wonderful establishment and it’s run by a wonderful family.
On that note, we really love the grilled chicken sandwich & the hamburger takes you on a nostalgic trip, pretty affordable as well!

Paid a visit here for the first time today, and I’m glad I decided to stop by. Called in an order for pick-up, and about 10 minutes later, I got my gyro sandwich and a Poor Boy sub. The gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and up-beat and promptly brought out my order. The dining area was neat, and the table and floors were clean. There is also outdoor seating available just off to the right of the sandwich shop.
Took the food home and dug right in. The Poor Boy sub was simple and satisfying. From the 3 types of fresh deli meat to the shredded lettuce, chopped onions, and sliced tomatoes, it had an excellent, well-balanced bread-to-filling ratio. The gyro was loaded with succulent, juicy meat and garnished with fresh fragrant onions and tomato and lathered in savory cucumber sauce. Both of those sandwiches were delicious and filling. I’m looking forward to my next visit. Thanks for the good food and good service. Cheers!

Food was amazing. I had an Italian beef and it was delicious. The meat was so tender and very well seasoned. I purchased 2 beefs and my fiancé got a gyros well done that I tried and was very tasty as well. She never finishes her food because she eats like a bird, but she was very impressed and finished her whole meal. I was telling the manger how good their food was and they blessed my fiancé and me with baklava pastries. Good family owned restaurant. Don’t mind commuting 45 mins to come here due to such a great experience with food and hospitality.

I always get the gyro meal with horchata to drink and it is amazing every time! Great food for a reasonable price as well as friendly staff! I do not live in the Chicago area, but Poor Boy is always one of my go to spots when I’m in town!

I’ve been coming to Poor Boy Subs 2 ever since I was young, and it continues to be my favorite place! The staff is always so kind, sweet, and incredibly helpful, making every visit a great experience. The food has consistently been amazing over the years — fresh, delicious, and made with care. It’s a spot that holds a lot of memories for me and my family, and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you’re looking for the best subs around, this is the place to go!

Lived in the area for years, always passed by this place. I regret not coming here sooner. Definitely a hidden gem. Gio, what a great person. Smiled while talking, great recommendations and overall charismatic. The food, I mean I’ve had some Poor Boy subs but this one was just top notch. Added the perfect bit of crispy bacon and *chefs kiss* perfection. Fries were awesome and the pizza puff was delicious. The seating area was clean and overall this is one of those small places that you can’t wait to come back to!
