We are beyond impressed by the food, great owner, friendly chef, and fantastic experience at Golden Fried Chicken and Fish. This is the place if you’re looking for true southern-style fried catfish.
My husband and I went here for lunch. There was plenty of parking and a steady flow of folks in and out for good reason.
The owner, J.R., greeted us as soon as we walked in. He was very helpful, informative, and so nice. His staff clearly respects him, and he runs a great shop.
It only took 10 minutes to get all our food steaming hot and fresh. I ordered the catfish dinner. My husband ordered the Golden Combo.
Just, wow. The flavor on this is 10/10. The last time I had catfish this good was when we were down south. Golden Fried Chicken and Fish is the best catfish in Columbus. Great business, incredible food. We can’t say enough great things.

I had never tried catfish before but the reviews for this place were good so I decided to get a dinner here. I ordered the two piece catfish with fries and it was great! The fish was tender and falling apart yet tasty with no strong fish flavor at all. The fries were good standard fries and it came with two slices of bread which were fine for helping to hold the very warm fish.

Terrible experience. 1st tried to go online to view menu. Menu online is terrible, wanted to order before i drove up. I Called and asked for where I could see menu instead of generic menu. I was told menu not online 2nd drove up to order, went inside noone waited on me, so I left. 3rd called back to let them know I was there and noone would serve me, I then was spoken to so rudely. This is the service you get at this establishment. Terrible!!! I called then even drove up there to try and support this business. You can’t make this up. Noone would serve me and noone was even in the store ordering . Super terrible Service.

We frequented this place often when we lived down the street. Loved it then and still love it. We moved 1 1/2 hours away but when we are in town, this is a MUST stop. Fried perch is to die for. My husband gets the chicken wings. Staff is always super friendly. Highly highly recommend!

i have ordered from this place through doordash a handful times and more times than not, my beef patty pocket or pizza pocket is always forgotten 🙁 i have only gotten a pizza pocket successfully once and it was AMAZING i love the catfish and fry combo but id love it if i got everything i ordered

My grandpa loves fried fish and he was in ICU at the James Hospital and was craving it. The look on his face when he took that first bite of coleslaw and the catfish, it made my heart melt. He loved every bit of it! He’s very picky when it comes to food but he said 100/10 for this place!! The people were friendly and sweet and fast service! Thank you!!!
