The Dolphin was started 70 years ago by the current owner Nancy Smith’s grandparents and has been a landmark in Barnstable Village ever since. A hands-on restaurant for three generations, patrons will always be greeted by a friendly face who often knows your name.
The Dolphin prides itself on its continuous effort to improve and restore the restaurant’s legacy of fine dining in Barnstable Village. Our white picket fence and well groomed landscape, gives our exterior a pristine, New England feel. Our tables are dressed with white linen and fresh flowers. Our wood shines, the glass sparkles and the granite bar has a nice glow.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to the Dolphin. The food was delicious. I got the chicken piccata and my husband got the lobster pie. The drinks were also good. Our server was very attentive and the vibe was very cozy and relaxing. We will definitely be back.

So I have recently visited here with my friend and we loved it food was delicious and atmosphere is awesome I feel very much British look but overall it’s so good and staff is super friendly our server was very attentive and helpful i think it’s a very nice restaurant to sit and have a good time with your loved once.

Pure Cape cod eatery. We stopped for a bite after touring around the jail and old blacksmith place up the street. Sadly they were closed, but luckily the dolphin was open!!
Exactly what I expected atmosphere wise, the service was excellent and our waitress even gave me a 2nd toothpick when she noticed I dropped mine on the floor.
Food was dynamite, can’t leave the Cape without lobster and chowder and this place did not disappoint. 10/10 we both loved the food.
Can’t wait to come back!

Really cute place in a lovely area that feels truly old school Cape Cod – classic. We have been for both lunch and dinner visits. Some dishes were better than others but overall Id still say it was good and the menu is creative.

This is a must if you visit the town of Barnstable in Cape Cod. Be ready to pay the price for good food (not extravagant – but more than most family restaurants – well worth the cost). The service is excellent, the food was amazing both times I have visited. Definitely worth every penny. This is such a lovely place to eat and relax.
