Rustic Italian & French cuisine such as pasta & steak frites served in an airy, relaxed setting.

This cozy spot has been serving Kerr Street for 14 years, yet this was my first time finally trying their food, and it didn’t disappoint! Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The food was fresh and flavourful, and we enjoyed dining on their patio, which seems to be a bit of a hidden spot. While it’s not the cheapest place in town, it’s certainly fair for the quality. We especially loved the chicken and smoked salmon wraps, and the shrimp linguine was hearty, delicious, and very filling.

Amazing spot, cozy and classy at the same time. Food was next level, you gotta try the Orzo! They’ve also got a private room for large parties or meetings. Owner shmoozes around and made us feel like VIPs. I’m going back for sure.

We had a Christmas party there with friends and had a great time. I really enjoyed their appetizers—the squid was delicious, and the brie cheese was a nice touch. The freshly baked bread was amazing. I ordered the beef and it was wonderful, and the crumbly dessert was also very good. Every coffee was perfect. I also loved their scallop risotto.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place for a date or a group event.

I had a great first experience at Jacs Bistro during lunch with a friend. The atmosphere was cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal, though perhaps a bit intimate for a date night. The Grilled Chicken and Brie I ordered was mouth-watering, with perfectly balanced flavors and tender chicken. My friend’s steak looked so delicious that I’m already planning to try it on my next visit.
I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Longstanding favourite dining spot. Been a customer for years. Remains an elegant space. Despite the years. Beautiful bar area. Excellent servers. In the last 2 years the quality of the food has been variable. More often poor than good. Rarely outstanding as it often was. The portion size has also shrunk. Also noticed this early to midweek The salads are still very tasty. Any leftovers don’t last until the following day. Food spoils very quickly.

My husband and I went here for Valentine’s dinner. The food was phenomenal, no complaints there. My only issue is that we wanted to order slowly, but our waitress told us we had to order everything at once since we only had a 2 hour limit. For a meal that expensive ($250+), I want to take my time and enjoy it. Since this is a French/Italian restaurant, I would have assumed ordering slowly is the norm, but apparently not. I was wondering if perhaps she only said this is since it was Valentine’s Day, but I looked at other reviews and this seems common year round. For this reason alone, I would not go again.

We went there for a Christmas dinner with a group of 6. The server was knowledgeable, attentive and with good sense of humour. Our drinks were served quickly, but we had to wait a good while for the food to arrive. However it was all worthwhile. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The portions were perfect. We all shared amazing salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. The server had no problem giving us separate bills. The restaurant has great ambiance and made a long drive from the city worth it. It’s a beautiful place with charm and amazing food and service. Would go back anytime.

I am sadly writing this review for Jac’s in Oakville *
I’m still fuming thinking about my terrible experience at Jac’s in Oakville. Last year, on November 30, my wife Shannon and I celebrated a very special occasion – our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary! It was a milestone event, and we wanted to mark it with a special dinner. Unfortunately, Jac’s was a huge letdown.
The service was slow, the food was subpar, and the staff seemed completely uninterested and we even called a couple of weeks earlier to let them know of the big date. It was a shame, because we were really looking forward to celebrating this special occasion with a nice dinner out. My parents who’ve been married for 50 incredible years, deserved so much better. when my wife Shannon expressed her concerns the “owner” said he was going to investigate hoping to get some sort of response or apology. But radio silence. NOT. A. Peep. ♀️
It’s been 1 YEAR later to the day for Jac’s, and I’m still waiting for someone to acknowledge our concerns. Was not looking for a free meal or anything, just a simple response of some kind would be nice. Guess I’ll just have to share my experience with friends, family, and now… the world . Guess the “owner” does not value its customers which is a shame we did love going there
*UPDATE:* Still no response from Jac’s. Guess that’s a big fat 0/10 from me. Won’t be back, won’t be recommending to friends.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Jac’s in Oakville?
