Everything we ordered was perfectly balanced – flavours, quality and freshness of the ingredients, presentation – top tier.
The Tori Karaage and Tuna Tataki were my personal favs, Beef Gyudon too – everything we ate was exceptional.

I dined at Mizu for lunch today, and it was a fantastic experience! We shared some incredible dishes, including the seared scallops, foie gras unagi don, tuna tataki, nanami soft shell crab, and saikyo miso black cod, which were all delicious. Each dish showcased fresh ingredients and rich flavors that were a real treat. The cozy atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment. The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a wonderful spot for lunch with amazing Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend Mizu!

Food was delicious and incredible. Many good options to choose from but it was not overwhelming! Quality and preparation of the ingredients and food were top tier. Absolutely outstanding!
We went for our anniversary dinner. We were very impressed by the warm welcome from the staff and their attentive service throughout the evening. Every dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and amazingly flavoured.
Compliments to the chef, the bartenders and all the waiting staff.
We were surprised at the end of our meal with a beautifully decorated cheesecake for our anniversary! We are very keen to be back soon

Came to Mizu when it first opened – I was already impressed with the quality and presentation of the food then. I am glad to see the restaurant thriving in such a tough economy as their effort is truly well deserved.

ayumi and the team were so professional and hospitable during our visit. my partner and i came for an anniversary dinner, and the experience here was nothing short of exemplary. the food was high quality and delicious, service was prompt and friendly, and the general atmosphere of the restaurant is truly a beautiful experience. on top of this, the restaurant graciously gave us our dessert on the house in lieu of our celebrations, as well as decorating it with a ‘happy anniversary’ sign. i highly recommend opting for the small plate options. we will definitely be back!

Didn’t think it would live up to the 5 rating but it did! Every dish was delicious. The service was superb. There was an excellent level of attention to detail. We felt seen and attended to when needed. We had a surprise birthday celebration and they helped store and bring out the cake. We had a lovely experience at Mizu. For British sushi we were impressed. We did however think it was very expensive. The fish was fresh and tasty. We wouldn’t recommend the wagyu nigiri for the price and the mochi for the lack of originality in the flavours. We did however enjoy the sake, sea bass and yellowtail nigiri. The otoro sashimi felt more like medium fatty compared to what we’ve had in the past. The miso soup was ok for the price. They initially forgot our noodles and had to wait another mins for them but otherwise they were tasty. We ordered a twist on an aperol spritz which just tasted like an aperol, the yuzu cocktail we had was delicious and high recommend it. Overall we had a good experience just quite pricey compared to other places we’ve been with similar quality.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mizu last night. The food was outstanding, every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We spent time in Japan recently and this is not only very authentic but up there with the best quality japanese food we have ever had. The sashimi and wagyu was incredible, with a big choice of sushi and more traditional mains on the menu for all wallets. We were there for a special occasion so we did splash out a little, but there is plenty there for everyone. The staff were fantastic too, very kind and helpful, very attentive and nothing was any trouble. They were great with our young daughter, with children, families and couples all welcome. A lovely atmosphere inside, dark, inviting but with spotlights that highlight the food. Well designed and well executed all around. Thank you for a lovely evening. This is our second visit: we live over 150 miles away from Bicester and made the trip again this weekend, one of the main reasons was to visit Mizu again; it is that good..!

Visited for my birthday a couple of weeks ago – just WOW. Food was divine and very filling – the soft shell crab was a particular highlight. We didn’t manage to get photos of all 6 dishes we ate but rest assured it was all beautifully presented & flavourful.
Staff were friendly & efficient, attentive without being overbearing, nothing was too much trouble. Very reasonably priced also, our bill came to just under £100 for the two of us with service charge included.
All in all an excellent find, we will definitely be returning for our next special occasion!
