We really liked the atmosphere when we arrived. The meal started out well, enjoying the appetizer, soup and salad. The main courses were just okay. The twice baked potatoes looked burned. The waitress did not check very often to make sure we had drinks. However, there didn’t seem to be enough help in the dining room, so I don’t fault her. We were celebrating a birthday, and did mention it when making the reservation. Not a word….Probably won’t go back.

We had our Christmas dinner party for our organization recently and everything was fantastic. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The upper room provided for a great atmosphere and our group really enjoyed everything.

Food is good, pricing is overall good. The drawback is more often than not it is noisy inside when it is busy as it is very compact. Best seating is outside ( and yes love the trains). Service is friendly and good. Def make a reservation for special occasions and holidays.

Service was top notch. Food was really good. Prices may seem high but my chicken romano was two pieces of chicken of which I took one home. Salad was a nice size. Twice baked potato was large enough that I took half home. So I got two meals out of my dinner. Will definitely return.

A fun and casual place for excellent entrees and sandwiches. The old train station atmosphere is nostalgic. The service was fantastic. Try any of the chicken entrees and don’t forget the wedding soup!

We’ve been devoted patrons for years and they never disappoint. The service is impeccable, the food is phenomenal, and it’s always a lovely experience. It’s our favorite restaurant in the reater Pittsburgh area and a must-eat for anyone looking for fine dining at a reasonable price. Family owned and operated, they’re a favorite of many.

We just had a private party for my fathers 90th birthday at Tarentum Station. We originally thought forty max would show. We wound up with 55. Allison and the team were fantastic. They accommodated the larger group with no issues at all. The menu selections were many and they satisfied all dietary preferences. The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. Allison and the team worked their tails off We had so much positive feedback from the guests. JGTS team you made may fathers party very special. Thank you. Herm Canil

This is a great lunch spot! If you are looking for upscale food but a casual vibe, go here. I had a tuna on rye, one of the best tuna sandwiches I ever had. My friend had french onion soup and a Caesar salad she said both were very good and my other friend has the Scrod anglaise ( a white fish cooked in butter and bread crumbs) which was excellent. So you can see the diverse range they have on their menu. The lunch menu is a smaller menu than dinner but I think all the basics are covered from hamburgers to salmon to salads. And Allison is a sweetheart. She took care of us even when I ask for ketchup even though it was already on my plate. Duh. Just go here and be pleasantly surprised.

Food and atmosphere were great. I had the route 28 mudslide and it wad amazing. A brownie topped with icecream surrounded by a landslide of whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. There is a metered lot outside the restaurant but there is also 2 hour free parking on the street right above the restaurant.
