First off looked and smelled great. Spring roll pastry was thick and chewy almost like frozen and refried but tasted ok, could only eat one as when they got cold (2 mins after delivery) they became inedible, solid like a rock so not pleased with those.
Then the pork belly and egg stew I ordered, the jasmine rice was ok, pretty sure it was a micro bag however the real issue was the pork. I understand that it’s a fatty cut but when you don’t get a single piece of meat and only lumps of fat and one egg it’s very off putting. I pulled out the ‘meat’ and out of the 7 pieces in the dish, all 7 were fat only. I was excited to try this place but I’ve been left disappointed, hungry and out of pocket. Don’t order here unless you want to order replacement food from elsewhere.
If you’re in the west end there’s far better places for pho.
Really disappointing!
I specifically asked not spicy and it was (for me) very spicy. But the waitress uurii gave me a drink for free when she saw me struggling and that is 10/10 customer service. Thank you for the amazing food.
Recommendation: fried spring roll ❤️
It’s a small place but the food is amazing. Wonderful, friendly service too.
Can’t recommend the summer rolls or pho enough. The deep fried ice cream is a bit naughty but tasty.
Book ahead, it’s very popular.
Update: just got the banh mi(baguette) and the goi cuon(spring roll). The banh mi was super spicy(just as I like it) the goi cuon could do with a shrimp option and some vietnamese pickles, other than that, superb!
Update 2: Got the fried shrimp, which was unfortunately a flop for my taste. I also got the Beef Curry with rice, it was really good, but it was served with carrots instead of potatoes. It’s not a thing I would remove stars for, but just to let you know what to expect.
Anyway, the vermicelli and pho taste was good. The pho is a more northern Vietnamese style in flavor and noodle, so expect a lighter broth than a southern style. The portions of the pho however are really disappointing – the large is about 15 or 16 pounds, and I’ve literally never seen a pho place give such a small bowl of pho.
They will serve food fresh here, they do not mess around. The Pho is always served fresh and at one very specific temperature: perfection.
If you -like the staff at this place- ever grow tired of tasting perfection then I strongly suggest you order the char-grilled chicken. You will thank me later. I will make the argument that this restaurant’s char-grilled chicken is the single best dish one can experience in Glasgow.
If you are vegan, then I don’t hold that against you.
Pay with cash, leave a tip and always order the cooked beef pho for your pregnant wife.
Sincerely,
Regular customer
