New Leaf is located in a small strip shopping center on West Chester Pike in Broomall. There is ample parking out front and more around the back. The restaurant does a very busy take out business. Reservations are only allowed gor parties of 6 or more. This can lead to some waits for a table during the most busy times.
There is a Sushi Bar on one side of the medium sixed dining area. The menu is expensive with a large selection of Sushi and Chinese dishes. The portions are generous. There are plenty of vegetarian items on the menu. Everything we had was tasty and appropriately spiced. The staff and owners are very friendly. Finally, it is a BYOB.

Amazinggg. The general tsos chicken is out of this world. Better than any fast food Chinese place I’ve ever had!!! And it’s actually real chicken not that frozen food meat that gets you wondering what animal youre eating . Never change!

Everything was incredible quality and fresh. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I loved the crab stick salad, was a great portion compared to other local spots. Service was great, fresh water served throughout the meal and our food came out quickly while they were not busy. I did find a very sharp, thin fish bone in my sushi but luckily did not cut my mouth or swallow it.

Great food, take out order came together quickly

Big shrimp, really liked the shrimp dumpling soup and garlic eggplant. The seafood delight, beef chow fun were good too

The walnut shrimp and sweet and sour chicken was a bit too heavily breaded for my taste

Dan Dan mien was peanuty and spicy

Green onion pancake too deep fried, but people liked that

So the place that used to be here had also been a favourite place, so I was sad to see it go, but I had to give this place a try. I mean, I can never turn down sushi.
We made a reservation for my birthday and I’m glad we did, it was packed. It did empty out though near the end. I ordered two things of sushi, some shumai, and dumplings. My dad ordered the wonton for two and I forget what else and my mum ordered a green bean dish and a dish that has chicken, shrimp, beef and vegetables in it. My only issue was my parents got their main courses and I had to wait maybe five more minutes for my sushi. But I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, it was busy and I ordered two specialty rolls. My parents made a bigger deal out of it than I did because I know making and rolling sushi takes time. Plus it was busy.
For dessert my mum and I ordered the chocolate mousse and my dad ordered the Creme Brule. The chocolate dusting of a fork on the dish was weird, but I found it funny and unique. The desserts were heaven.
The wait staff was super nice and the owner is really cool. He came and chatted with us for ten or so minutes.
We came back the next week and all our appetizers came out at the same time and all our entrees, including my three orders of sushi, came out at the same time. We went around 5pm for the second dinner and it hadn’t gotten packed yet.
My only complaint, I got the tea with bubbles and the bubbles were horrible. The tea was also super strong so I had to mix in more water to weaken it. But I also don’t like super sweet and strong teas, so the tea might be fine for someone else, but for me it tasted bad.

Good local Chinese, Japanese & some Thai fusion restaurant. Little hard to get to if you’re going west on route 3 (West Chester Pike) –have to either go around the block or make a U turn. But, if you’re in the area, it’s worthwhile. Good sushi, Chinese is quite good & the pad Thai isn’t bad, either. Chicken hot & sour & miso soup also both good. Scallion pancake is nice light & flaky.

I spent close to $100 on my past order. The tuna in the roll was brown/black. Everywhere else I have eaten sushi the tuna has always been pinkish. I called the restaurant bc I was a little concerned and wanted to know how fresh the tuna was. I was told that the color will lighten over time… A little confused because that was my meal and I wanted to eat it that night and who eats sushi as leftovers?! I used to live in PA and my sister brought it to me after surgery. Disappointed.
