We live in Sutherland, IA and I discovered that the Gasthaus Bar & Grill in Cherokee, IA, served a Breaded Pork Tenderloin, and so close to us; only 23 minutes and 18 miles. We have traveled great distances to several restaurnts in the last year and a half, tasting the Breaded Pork Tenderloin, many on the BPT Trail in Iowa that were either winners, runners up, or favorable mentions. I don’t know if the Gasthaus Bar & Grill in Cherokee has been nominated nor ever won, but the BPT we had today was excellent. This business is very unique in that the setting is very cozy and there are an abundance of interesting postings on the walls in this restaurant that will peak anyone’s interest. Also, the service was very friendly and quick. We will surely be returning again. Thanks Gasthaus Bar & Grill, well done!

This is a very neat little place, the decorations on the wall are fun to look at. The waitress made me feel extremely rushed to order my drink and also to order my food. I ordered the Mac burger, it tasted like Kraft out of the box Mac & cheese that was maybe sitting around too long. Overall I was not happy with my experience here.

It’s okay, had the bacon blue burger. I’ve had better but service was great. And you can’t hit 100% all the time. I wouldn’t hesitate to try again… So give them a try, and you decide….

Stopped in for lunch on our way through Cherokee, IA. Great casual place with lots of fun decorations to look at if your dinner guests lack in conversational skills. The food came quickly, and was very good, hot, reasonably portioned, a great value. I’d stop again.
