The Redwood is such a great restaurant, the food far exceeds the small town locale. The staff is great, like going where everyone knows your name. Tonight we the New York Strips, my husband had the steak add-on, Parmesan sauce w/ lobster & shrimp. As always they were the best steaks up North. My husband had their amazing homemade French Onion soup, nobody makes it it like them. We also had the cowboy bites as an appetizer. We are blessed to have such great food in our home town.

It was our first time going to Redwood and definitely won’t be the last! It was quiet when we went and we sat on the lounge side but our waiter Cody was great! And the food was delicious! My NY strip was seasoned and cooked to perfection and sides were good to. The perch and mac and cheese I was told was also really good.

In another area with more options this would get 4 stars but for up north, this place gets five stars! The menu has many selections and food is good. The specials list was extensive. I don’t recommend the meatloaf. The dessert is sharing size. This place has trouble seating groups of more than 4 as there is only 2 larger tables. Bar seating available.

This place is way too underrated! On a Saturday night at 6:00, we were the only family there. I got the walleye with maple whipped sweet potato and broccolini. It was delicious and a perfect serving size! Please show this business the support it deserves.

A tip of the hat for the incredibly rude behavior exhibited by the lady answering the phone Friday evening at 610pm (10/10/25). We sent the eldest kiddo from Gaylord to pick up some food. In order to have it fresh, we waited until he was closer to place the order to make sure it was still hot when he got there. When my wife called, the lady simply said that they were not taking any to-go orders and immediately hung up. When we tried to call back to ask if he could place an order in person, they repeatedly hung up immediately upon calling back without saying hello. I called back from another # and they finally answered. When I asked why she was hanging up on my wife, she said because they are not taking to-go orders. I asked if he could place an order in person and was advised there’s no guarantees.

The wife likes going here with her friends for girls night out, but that’s obviously a bit doubtful now in the future

Do better.

Went here while visiting family. Food was hearty and old school and really good. Servers were busy and understaffed and still gave great service.

Been here twice, absolutely love the foods, it’s flavourful n the meat melts in your mouth. Easily one of the best places to eat, the service is spot on. You get your seat, they take your order, n get your food fast.

Took my wife to her birthday dinner at the red wood steak house, neither of us had been here in 10+ years, we also invited another couple to join us. There were about 3-4 other tables in the dining area (1/4 of the tables). We were seated quickly and ordered our drinks and appetizers. They came out quickly and we’re very good! That was the best part of the experience. We ordered our entree’s and a couple more small tables came in. After about an hour an older women walked up to our server and said ” where is our food? We have been here for an hour and a half!” At this time we had probably waited 45 minutes for our food since we placed the order. 15 minutes later they started to bring out our meals. (An hour after we ordered it) my wife ordered the king crab and was extremely excited to have it for her birthday. The waitress told her that the cooks had just checked the temp of it and put it back in because it wasn’t up to temp so it would be a few minutes yet before she would receive it. Meanwhile, I ordered the 14 oz sirloin cooked to medium, it was served to me between medium well and we’ll. I didn’t complain and it tasted pretty good. The other couple that was with us ordered the prime rib (medium rare) , snow crab and lobster. The prime rib was served well done, and sent back. The lobster and snow crab was also over cooked and sent back. The waitress returned with a slice of medium rare prime rib and was good, the snow crab came back cooked better and tasted better. The lobster was never brought back to our table… My wife’s king crab when she received it was over cooked and rubbery, I tried some and it didn’t taste good at all. We didn’t send it back. When we received our bill we had to send it back because it wasn’t split like we asked when we arrived. When we got our bills back they weren’t correct of who ordered what, but we figured it out between ourselves. The prices on the bill were higher than the menu showed, at the bottom of the bill it shows 2 different prices, one for cash and one with card, they charge a 4% fee for paying with a card, that is something that should be told when you receive your menus. Luckily I has some cash on me… We spoke with the manager about our experience, she was very sympathetic and apologized. She offered the couple we were with some gift cards, they told her to not nevermind because they likely would not be coming back. The manager did not offer myself or my wife any gift cards. She did not offer to comp anything off of either of our bills. mind you, just my wife’s entree was $44 and she only ate a very small amount of it. If we ordered a $8 cheeseburger and it wasn’t that good we wouldn’t have said anything but when you pay a lot for food you expect it to taste at least decent. After myself and the other couple with us paid, we noticed there were extra charges for the mashed potatoes and gravy that on the menue were supposed to be included with our entree’s. Also noticed that the lobster that was sent back was never taken off the bill… The manager was told and did nothing to rectify it. All of the manager talking and bill fixing took a long time, we were there for 2 1/2 hours. Not a very good experience, really sad it was for my wife’s birthday dinner and she was disappointed. This restaurant definitely has some issues to work on. We might go back in a year or two just to give it another try, who knows, maybe everyone working was having an off night.

This place has been amazing since the new owner bought it! The New York strip is very tasty has a char that is delicious! Also the Caesar salad is exceptional and our family loves it, highly recommended! My husband got the filet and said it was also spot on. We used to frequent another restaurant in the area that at one time had great food but we now go here instead.
