Our family frequents this restaurant about twice a month. We LOVE IT.
The food is fresh, tasty, and made with much care. The staff here is always helpful, smiling, and at least seem like they enjoy serving their customers. We enjoy the standard tacos, ice cream, and we often try a new treat each time we visit. Highly recommend!

I found a jewel of a restaurant here! Totally unexpected.
Enchiladas are out of this world made fresh very quickly.
Wonderful ingredients.
Staff are talented in the kitchen. I was treated well and with enthusiasm. Cheery atmosphere.
The man behind the counter even helped me find a plug to charge electronics. And the value for the buck you spend here is much higher than most private firms can offer.
I know I just found a new favorite I bet not many people here know about. I foresee many repeat visits!

Love everything about this place! The food, the decor, the staff, the ambiance… all wonderful! I got a chicken torta, along with chorizo and pork tacos. All made fresh outside in the food truck. Everything as authentic as it gets! Great price! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Delicious tacos. Nice saucy chorizo. Really good salsas. Fun, tacky cat decorations everywhere, including the toilet paper holder. Our order was taken to the food truck in the parking lot, and our food came out of the food truck; the quiet, large dining room essentially serves as a food truck lobby, and less like a full-on restaurant.

Came to this location after watching a movie at the nearby AMC. Walked in and got great service to order some tacos for my girlfriend and I. We waited inside while the order was being prepared by the food truck outside. Based on our previous experiences with Mexican food in the area, we weren’t expecting much but this place really surprised us. The tortillas tasted excellent and the tacos were filled with meat. We both had pastor (pork) and asada tacos and really enjoyed them. The salsas also tasted great and authentic. This is now my favorite taco spot in the area, with the bonus of the sweet treats also served within the store.

One of the BEST tacos I’ve ever had in Madison, and I’ve had every taco I’ve ever found, lol. This and Tex Tubs are the best overall, but Taco Gato 100% wins for authenticity paired with quality, ESPECIALLY with their pastor. ❤️ Thank you to the man who recommended I try the pastor – it was a game-changer.

We just googled “Mexican Ice Cream near us. We live in Verona. We were timid driving up to the location in a somewhat run down strip/corner mall. They even have a food truck outside!! We were certainly intrigued. This location is just one we drive by on the highway but never come down the side streets. Walking into the restaurant we were completely surprised with how updated the inside was! It’s so welcoming and children friendly but also quiet enough for adults to relax and enjoy!

Tacos, burritos, sopes, memelas, tortas, and tons of ice creams, snacks, elotes, etc!!!
I ordered tacos and they were STUFFED! they cook the food inside the taco truck which is certainly different but it took maybe 5 minutes as they were already cooking once we passed the truck.
The sauces (green very creamy and strong taste of roasted peppers 9/10) (red sauce taste of chipotles and also somewhat creamy 8/10)
We certainly will be coming back to test more things out on the menu! What an absolute hidden gem and it’s fairly cheap too! Give them a try!

Wasn’t open at 11:46 on a Wednesday. Shame I really wanted to try their stuff. Also has their food trailer parked blocking the ramp for wheelchair access and wheelchair ramp room.

Food was great, staff was nice. Only points for improvement would be to not block wheelchair access, and it was just a but loud with all the people coming in and out of the back and staff watching things on their phones. I was the only customer there so it was surprising how many people where just coming and going from the back.
