Solid Mexican food joint.
Mrs had a yummy,filling cheese enchilada combo plate.
Chili releno was big & tasty. Also had crispy carnitas and a ground beef taco, combo plate with beans and rice. All pretty authentic and consistent quality (3rd visit here) Employees are friendly and get the order correct.
Excellent salsa bar,(kinda unheard of since Covid) chips, variety of salsas with a hot habanero version. We ordered enough for 2 with dinner leftovers.

New taqueria in Auburn, located next to the Tesla Supercharging station. Serving all of the traditional Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and taco salads. Large selection of sauces at the self-serve counter that also has free chips. Interior is bright and clean. Good place to take a break if you’re on your way to Tahoe. Friendly and efficient service. Large free parking lot.

I stopped for lunch here while charging at the convenient Tesla supercharger next door. I got a carnitas torta, which was ok — the pork was tender, but way too salty for me. Tortilla chips were good and complimentary, with a complete salsa bar. The decor is pretty basic, essentially a fast food restaurant. Service was fast and friendly.

El Burrito Taqueria in Auburn, CA is in a super convenient location right off the freeway — perfect for travelers with nearby gas stations, grocery stores, and other food spots. We noticed they have a drive-through (which we didn’t realize at first), but we chose to dine inside. The restaurant was very clean and had a clearly displayed menu with plenty of options.
We ordered a variety of items to get a feel for the place:
• Carne Asada street tacos – Flavor was good, but they were missing the usual extras like lime, radishes, grilled onions, or pickled veggies. Even the cilantro and onions felt a little light.
• Bacon breakfast burrito – Yummy! It came packed with rice, beans, eggs, and bacon.
• Coctel de Camarones (shrimp cocktail) – A nice option for something refreshing.
• Flan – Tasty and held up well as a road trip snack.
• Cookie from the counter – Skip it. It looked good but didn’t deliver on flavor. Brownies might be the better choice next time.
Customer service was friendly and quick, which we really appreciated. There’s also a nice outdoor seating area if you want to enjoy your meal outside.
Overall, this place wasn’t bad, just didn’t quite wow us. I’d probably try another spot first if I’m in the area again, but I wouldn’t completely rule out coming back — especially to try their red snapper dishes next time.
PS- Women’s 6 was CLEAN and maintained.

I really wanted to love this taqueria seeing how it’s one of the few Mexican drive thru options in town. But unfortunately, it was not as tasty as I had hoped. Had a super burrito with lengua and loved the unique meat option, but the food was too American for me and lacked authentic flavor. Still glad I was able to try it and that it seems to be doing well in that location.

Solid spot for delicious Mexican food. The prices were very good considering the massive portions we got. The service staff were incredibly friendly and our food came out wildly fast.

We stopped to use the chargers behind the restaurant. What a great surprise! Ordered a shrimp cocktail that was huge and fantastic! Filled with shrimp and great flavor. The menu is huge and they have vegetarian options. Coming back for sure!

I had a great experience at Taqueria El Burrito! The food was flavorful and freshly made — I tried the asada enchiladas and they were juicy, well-seasoned, and served with fresh toppings. The salsa had just the right amount of kick, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and quick, and the place had a clean, authentic vibe. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the wait time was because everything can use some improvement, but definitely worth it. I’ll be back!
