The parking is very accessible. Finding a table was easy. The menu was easy to read and the seating was comfortable. Spent about $18 for 3 carne Asada tacos a drink and chips before tip. We’ll seasoned meat and lots of salsa. The drink came with lots of ice and was very refreshing. Over all a great experience, didn’t have to wait long for a check.

After hearing about the food from a customer of mine, I decided to give it a try. You can only have so much McDonald’s or Burger King before you need a break. I looked at their lunch menu, entree’s for 10.50 each. The taco salad sounded good. While it wasn’t fancy looking the dish had well seasoned ground beef and some Chihuahua cheese then topped with lettuce and sour cream. It really could have had a few slices of fresh jalapeno on top and a bit of salsa to make it even better. But you can always ask. Most of the time you are going to get some nasty, been in the jar a couple years pickled jalapenos. The taco salad was better than most. If you get the meat fresh before it sits it a steam bath it tastes better and the texture is better if its been freshly cooked on the flat top.
Update 1-9-2025
We stopped in last week for a dinner after coming to JC to pick up a Walmart order. The dining choices closer to the highway were packed, but I knew a little farther away was going to be worth it. We had great service, good food and the blueberry jalapeno margarita was excellent.
The staff was very friendly and it was worth going a little farther. Did I say the guacamole was out of this world?
All in all it was good, I’ll be back to try something else next time.

Love this place! Our favorite place to eat in Junction City! The good service starts when we walk in the door, and doesn’t quit till we walk out. The food is beautiful and delicious! We always get 2 meals out of it. We love it for breakfast with a fried egg on top! We usually get the fajitas and the El Pollo. El Pollo is a great way to get kids to eat their veggies! The margaritas are so good, and they have limited time flavors sometimes, so get one while you can! Reasonably priced. We go in and share a plate of nachos, with iced tea and the complimentary chips and salsa, it’s about $20. They’re always fairly to very busy, but we never wait very long for anything. Everyone seems to be really enjoying themselves! The only downsides are the parking is tricky, and you’re not supposed to put tp down the toilet…? Other than that, we highly recommend this restaurant.

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel this needs to be shared. My partner and I visited this restaurant for Dinner recently (12/10/2025), and unfortunately we both ended up with food poisoning hours after our meal. The symptoms started from middle of the night and lasted well into the next day, which was very concerning. Not sure if any other patrons had similar issue from that night.
The staff was friendly and the service itself was fine, but the food quality and safety were clearly an issue during our visit. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews their food handling practices so other customers don’t go through the same experience we did.

Great Mexican food. I got to Central Mexico a lot and this was very authentic. I got the treat tacos and they were delicious. Two tacos was plenty for me. They also serve mistro tequila which is very good. I don’t see it very often in the states.
I definitely recommend eating here!

I had literally the best Mexican food I have ever had at this place. I was previously intimated by the outside of the building, so I just recently went for the first time. The inside is really nice. I was happy dancing the while time we ate. I keep dreaming about the food here and now I don’t know if I can happily eat Mexican food anywhere else!

Yesterday 10/28 was the last time I’ll go to El Patron Dos unless there is a change of ownership. I’m not sure what has changed, but I was a regular customer and everything has gone downhill, except the atmosphere. That’s still pretty. I ordered ahead, arrived late to get my order (because I’d heard they gotten real slow), received the WRONG order, then had to wait another 20 minutes! My birria tacos had some sort of plastic strings along the edges and my consommé had FUR on top. I can not make this up. What’s crazy is my carrot cake had bits of parchment paper stuck around the edges as well. It was so absurdly horrible that I just laughed. So I basically spent $25 at this place and was still hungry. (insert face palm)
I’m certainly glad that others are still having a great experience.

You’re gonna like the way this tastes… service was fast and friendly, environment was lit and the food was, well, someone said it was best around and it certainly tasted up to that sales pitch. The valentine balloon arch was a fun touch!

Overall a great first experience. A coworker and I met a client for a business lunch and everything was great – inside is very bright and newly remodeled, service was quick, my enchiladas verdes was very good as was the beans and rice. And their homemade hot sauce is very hot but has good flavor. Food came out very fast and we all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely go again for business lunches and/or with my family.
