This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Saint Peters area. I’ve brought so many friends and family here to introduce them to the wonderful food and excellent service. I have a friend that doesn’t like anything spicy but he’s LOVES their burger. My teenager gets the chicken tenders and fries. I’m full when I leave and usually have to go box for next day lunch. Chips and salsa are always good and they have a bean dip that is so delicious . Clean restaurant and restrooms. Easily accessible for my elderly parents with walkers. Center tables able to seat a ten person party. Even that visit we had great service. Go! I really hope you enjoy your visit.

We’ve been eating here regularly for about a year. My husband especially loves the birria tacos and quesadilla, and I love the fajitas, with the large shrimp cooked perfectly every time. The food comes quick and servers stay on top of drinks, with a special shout out to Amber who has served us several times. I highly recommend this place over chain places nearby!

Our visit to El Guatal in St. Peters was an average experience overall. The food was decent, though the menu felt somewhat limited and nothing particularly stood out. Unfortunately, our server didn’t take notes on the drink order, which led to a mix-up, and it took close to 15 minutes to receive the check at the end of the meal. The atmosphere was lively but a bit too loud and crowded for our taste. While not a bad spot, it didn’t quite leave a lasting impression.

This place is AMAZING! We ended up here on the 2 year anniversary. The vibes are immaculate, everyone was so nice and attentive, and the food was amazing!!
Our waitress, Carmen, was so sweet and helpful! We will be back 1000%. My husband got the Molcajete and I got the Shrimp Chimichanga!

This is the best Mexican food in the area. Unlike most Mexican places, menu is consice but what they serve is great.
Portions are good and prices are reasonable.

It was my first time here. Everyone who worked there was very friendly. Cute atmosphere and very clean. Their salsa was sweet, which was good. They also served bean dip with the chips. My meal was very good. I thought my meal was a little pricey for what you got. I would go back

Ever since we found this place, I use any excuse to meet someone there for lunch. My favorite food besides chips & guac are the Birria Tacos, but there are so many yummy items. Margaritas are great. The service is excellent. I highly recommend El Guatal!

Came with my friend around 8PM, the servers were all super friendly. It genuinely felt like they were happy to see us! The chips came with a warm bean dip and salsa! I got the tamales, which were pretty good! My friend got a steak and chicken taco, and the steak was our favorite – so flavorful! We also got the fried ice cream, which was huge and full of sprinkles! I think we stayed up to closing, but the staff gave us plenty of space and time to pack up! Thank you, El Guatal!

Great spot!
Refried Bean Dip, Salsa and chips to start you off— a menu with some regular AND authentic meal options — cute interior decor — nice staff — good tea — great portion sizes — and good pricing!
My ONLY critique would be to Please make the Cheese Dip thicker, as it was a bit liquidy(great for topping food, not so much for dipping chips).
Would recommend!!!
