The prices seem inflated, and they are, but the portions are generous and reflect the quality of a casual bar atmosphere. If you’ve got no where to be, this is a nice place to relax and enjoy with friends. If you plan on drinking I would take advantage of their “Set-up” deal which allows you to bring your own liquor and use their mixers for under $4.
A great place to sit, but not a great restaurant.
I wanted to be near the water this summer or I could just sit and eat and enjoy the views the warm sun maybe even makes new friends.
So I reached out on the neighborhood app and ask those around me where is a good place to go and everybody loves. The outpouring response that I got was beautiful and amazing and I’ve tried this one as well as another one area and they both provide a unique experience all its own.
But considering this place was the one place everybody talked about the most because of the margaritas and the tacos but mainly The margaritas LOL!!!
Now by no means I’m not going to tell you that this is Taco Bell or anything like this cuz it’s good quality food good quality drinks and I haven’t even told you about the view yet so go to spend a little money on yourself because it’s definitely well worth it!
So the location yes it is on the lake to the point where if you’re on a boat you can even pull right on up with your boat and park come in have a little something to eat a little drink and then head on out! I’m not sure but the seasonal hours are because everything is outside and there’s no indoor seating at all. So I would definitely say go by yourself and go with some buddies or maybe even on a date night, but it definitely is worth it and if you beg to differ then there’s something wrong with you haha! Because it’s it by the water to enjoy the sunshine in the tranquility that is around I feel like you just can’t let anything get you down.
So go see my girl Kate she is a drop dead gorgeous young lady, men I do not know if she is single I did not ask that I guess she was just have to go and ask for her and be nice tip generously they work hard but be nice cuz I will ask her haha!
So if you’ve gone to this point in Reading and you’re not on your way to go get you a margarita I need you to question why not and get in the car and go… Now!!!
Happy Summer!
The food was as expected, largely deep fried but they do have burgers and salads we didn’t try but I was told the burgers were good … so maybe next time. Wings were a little disappointing as I ordered Caribbean rub and wasn’t expecting them battered first, my bad for not asking. The fish basket was OK but on the greasy side. We’ll go back when out boating but prices seemed high for the quality of food.
The setting and lake accessibility probably will push it up to a four when we can boat over.
The server was very nice and informative about the menu.
However, I can not recommend the Texan brisket sandwich. The brisket was cut in large cubes. It was tough and fatty. The sausage was good though.
My three stars is on the brisket, not the server who was great.
The chicken tenders were great.
Parking s boat to eat is tough they have very few spots.
We were looking forward to coming back to one of our lake favorites for a great burger.
I ordered a burger medium rare and it was completely well done. You would think that they could get it somewhat close.
We will give it another try and hopefully they can get it right next time.
1. New ownership. They’ve hired some fantastic summer help, both at the gas dock as well as the restaurant. Super friendly and helpful with an attention to detail and quick service.
2. Restaurant. Same great burger and fries, and they’ve made it more efficient by having an order window rather than wait-staff to expedite your orders.
1/2 pound burger and fries was enough to split… but of course you add in some onion rings and it was a full blown meal for two!
3. “Bar” area. Separate from the restaurant window, so you can grab a beer, wine or set-up for your own favorite cocktail.
I’ll reiterate… if you want the “see and be seen” atmosphere of Fletcher’s or Maynards, you won’t find that here. Just really excellent staff, good service and reasonably priced food and drinks!
…and they’re planning on redoing the dock system this winter for easier access to the restaurant and better situation for the gas dock! NICE!
