I am kind of up in the air about this location. It’s close to our house and I do enjoy some of their food, but I feel like it could be run much better.
Getting coffee in the morning can be a hassle the area is so small and many people are trying to get into that same small area.
I enjoy some of their salads but the prices have gone through the roof so that’s hard to enjoy. If you go later in the day it’s hard to find staff there’s the kiosk but I hate using those things I’d rather have interaction and pay with cash. I feel like they should change the layout to put a little more focus on customer service.

I had a wonderful experience at Panera Bread! I ordered a salad, a baguette, and some pastries — and everything was absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh and perfectly balanced, the baguette warm and crispy, but what truly stole my heart was the bakery section.
To refresh this location for new customers, I feel that you need to make the show kitchen, it would be interesting for people to look how bakers decorate and bake, it’s stunning!!

The pastries here are stunning even from how they look — flaky, buttery, and clearly baked with care. You can really tell that the bakers put passion into their work. Each bite felt like a cozy hug, especially the croissants and bread, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. Soft, fragrant — just perfect!
The cafe itself was spotless. Everything was clean, organized, and inviting. It’s clear that cleanliness and atmosphere are a priority here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I especially appreciated how polite and professional the bakery team was.
I also want to take a moment to recognize the amazing work of the managers Andre Ryan and Stephanie Herner. Their leadership truly shows in the way the team works together so smoothly and keeps the environment warm and positive. You can feel their care in every part of the guest experience.
Highly recommend visiting this Panera Bread Northbrook location — I’ll definitely be coming back! Help them become even better, then now!

I was really hoping this Panera location would improve on their portion sizes because they really skimp on their sandwich from the meat and all the fixings on the sandwich.
They are not putting enough on their sandwiches. This has been going on since 2022. I hope it gets better and I am happy to return.

Tonight was the second time in the past 2 months we order food from Northbrook location.
Quality of food has changed drastically in a negative way.
Cram of broccoli used to be so creamy and delicious now it was very soupy and casteless. Bred is no longer French nuggets but rather sandwich bread. Greek salad was so sour.
Too bad not sure what is going on but hope they get their act together, we don’t want to lose another restaurant in our neighborhood

I tried the new Italian season Sandwich from the menu, but it’s only in this location, I hope it will go viral!
The braid bread with multi lettuce, tomato, cream cheese, sapresano meat and asiago cheese and avocado on the side!
OMG! It was amazing! No sause – cream cheese is better for sandwiches.
PLEASE try it there!!! It’s very tasty
And Fresca lemonade with strawberry (no basil)

This was my first time going to Panera bread in almost a decade. And wow have they shrunk the portion sizes. 10$ gets you a tiny bread roll with less than 7 spoonfuls of soup . Once you order, they give you an electronic number square which obnoxiously vibrates n flashes even after you’ve already grabbed your order.
The choice of chairs on carpet wasn’t great for the place either because the chairs stick to the ground when trying to slide them in & out to move from your table. I guess the best part about my experience was that I got an apple . But I’d rather go to the grocery store for that. There’s better places to eat at that give more serving portion for how much you pay here.

For the second time they completely messed up my order. I am at work and cannot go back to get it fixed. All I ask is no cheese and sauce and they put cheese and sauce every time. I have to throw out the food. Pretty much just wasting money every time I go at this point. The person at the register acted like it was annoying just to take my order. I visit the Panera in Northbrook several times a week and consistently have a great experience. The location is modern, clean, and very well managed. The managerial team is excellent, and most of the staff has been here for years—which says a lot. They’re well-trained, professional, and friendly. Like any fast-casual place, there’s some staff turnover, and while most new hires are great, occasionally service from a new hire can vary a bit.
The food is reliably fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. Panera’s pricing is higher than typical fast food, but the quality is also a step above. I usually go with the You Pick Two combo and enjoy mixing up my soups and salads. I’ll sometimes opt for a sandwich, and everything I’ve tried has been consistently good.
The location has easy parking, plenty of seating, great natural lighting, and nice window views—making it a comfortable place to dine or even get a work done. I often meet colleagues, clients and vendors here. Overall, it’s a well-run and enjoyable spot for a casual meal.

March 2021: I used the Panera app to order and picked up the order inside. There was no person contact. The order was perfect. I hope to eat inside once things get back to “normal.”
