Showed up at 6 first mistake, it was quite loud older folks really can set the noise level up there.
We had been seated very fast, OK it was an excellent start, the waitress was with us within a couple minutes with water and bread, nice a step above our usual steakhouse up by the mall.
We had no appetizers, just ordered our dinner, we both had the “Surf & Turf” which was a 24 ounce prime rib, I ordered the chicken scampi & my wife ordered the shrimp scampi, which was part of the meal, we had a tossed salad and a baked potato also part of the Surf & Turf which is $56.xx
The salad arrived in about 10 minutes it was excellent, and we had time to talk and enjoy our salad before the main course arrived.
The main course arrived 12-15 minutes later which was perfect in our opinion.
The prime rib was cooked perfectly to our idea of medium rare, both pieces had a nice broiled appearance, the taste & tenderness was delicious. My wife said the shrimp 4 nice sized shrimp perfectly cooked, very lightly battered, crunchy but tender, she thought they were amazing.
The chicken I had appeared to be a large breast that was pounded to tenderize it, it was in a sauce heavily tasting of garlic delicious, not a stringy breast you buy at the grocery store or it was properly tenderized prior to cooking. The bake potato was not a “Idaho baking potato” with the heavy skin and yellow coloration, it was according to my wife a “chefs potato” it was excellent, nice and creamy cooked to perfection.
This place will replace the chain steak restaurant we would frequently visit.
The bill was 124.xx that included 9.xx tax. We tipped the waiter $20.00
My wife and I really enjoyed our visit although a tad loud at the time we went on a Wednesday.
Still an enjoyable anniversary dinner. Let’s see if our next visit will be as pleasing.
Edit: 2/5/26 Third time we been here, everything was amazing we love the place. Ordered the same surf & turf it was a Thursday 6:15pm place was insanely busy. Our salad was amazing the prime rib cooked nicely and so tender, my chicken scampi was amazingly tender, my wife’s shrimp scampi she said was amazing. The portion sizes impressive, breakfast tomorrow a baked potato and prime rib we love it. The spaghetti side was delicious. I highly recommend this place, I always drop the wife at the door and park a block away keep that in mind if you want to dine here parking is rough. Our bill was $128.xx tipped our waiter $25
I am posting more pictures from tonight.
My fettuccine Alfredo had no flavor, the sauce tasted like milk and flour mixed together. I also had random vegetables mixed in that I hadn’t asked for and that weren’t listed on the menu that would be in the dish.
My mom ordered the filet mignon and the outside was charred while the inside was stringy and borderline raw, despite being ordered medium rare. It had no flavor, definitely had concern that it was frozen prior to cooking.
My wife got the shrimp scampi and the presentation was terrible, had random strands of pasta mixed in even though it isn’t served on top of pasta.
We mentioned our meal concerns to our waiter and he just shrugged and walked away.
The table behind us also complained that their pasta was undercooked and also got a similar response from the same wait staff.
We paid and made our way home, left hungry and very disappointed. Thankfully had stuff for PB&J when I got home to curb the hunger pains.
It’s sad when Olive Garden has better flavor, presentation, and overall experience than an old staple to Elmira.
Every experience is good but the best one so far has been coming on Valentines day with my wife. She got a glass of wine. They corked a bottle of my favorite wine and gave a complimentary glass (wine is only sold by the bottle typically) because they, “didnt want her to drink alone”. Amazing.
Everything here is good, but my favorite is chicken gorgonzola.
The salad was very fresh. The main course, I had the prime pork chops, was very good. Our group of 7, had various selections, ranging from pasta to seafood. All were satisfied with their choices. Prices are in the $12-50 range. The portions were good sized. No one left hungry. Most took leftovers home. Very enjoyable evening. Would go back.
If you are looking for a place to gorge yourself and don’t care about quality this is your place.
Our waitress was nice and that was the only good part.
Service is always good, they really pay attention to the little things. My wife loves the chicken piccata, and the roasted peppers with gorgonzola are seriously amazing. Well worth the visit you won’t get a bad meal here
