Service was slow a turtle could have done better. Screwed the drink order up 3 times. Order was a Ruben sandwich, kids spaghetti and meatballs, a blt, salmon and the ham dinner. The bacon wasn’t cooked the sauce on the spaghetti looked like ketchup and the salmon tasted like a shoe.

Cannot say enough good things about our experience using the Red Schoolhouse catering for our 170 person wedding. Shawna and team delivered top notch service – going above and beyond the entire night. So helpful and efficient with all that we asked of them and one less thing for us to worry about day of because Shawna was truly on top of everything. Not to mention, guests continue to rave about how great the food was. 10/10!! Thank you again for everything!

Great food at a great price. Takes me back to growing up in a small, tiny Iowa town. Good home cooking but up a notch. They can cook seafood and I’m not at the coast!!!! This is my vets favorite restaurant and I’m glad his wife recommended it. Not a lot of options out in the middle of the country. Great service with caring, welcoming people. A popular local hangout. A must stop when traveling in the area.

Love this spot! Haven’t been here in so long, and I’m glad I was able to finally go back! Nice pool table, bar area is clean and comfortable, the dining area offers a more private dining experience separate from the bar, and the wings are fantastic! Also, yelling “YAYYY WES!” loud it’s not only appreciated, but encouraged lol

I would only ever come here to dine as their food isn’t bad but I would stray away from using them for catering, especially for weddings. We first contacted the red schoolhouse in December regarding catering for our wedding and we had to email and call multiple times to get a response. This has been a theme since we have been in contact with them. We had our tasting towards the end of February and had decided we’d use them as their pricing is fair and their food was pretty decent. At this point, they informed me they don’t have a contract and I wasn’t comfortable with that so I had requested they draft up a contract and they agreed to. The last update I had gotten was at the end of March stating the contract was at their lawyers for review. Since then I have emailed them a few times asking for an update with no response. Throughout this whole process I have called and emailed multiple times stating I was frustrated with their lack of communication and have requested more communication to no avail. At this point we have booked another caterer as we are less than 6 months out from our wedding and needed a caterer we could actually trust and who responds.

We had a reservation at the school house on Valentines Day after a wedding. It took us a very long time to get drinks after we were seated. Then when the waitress finally came about 20 minutes later to take our order it took about 30 minutes for our apps to arrive. Mind you were arrived around 345pm for dinner. The restaurant wasn’t that busy. Salad bar is much to be desired. It was pretty empty at the time. The bride and groom had to ask the waitress to fill the salad bar which took approximately another 20 minutes. By the time our food finally arrived we had waited over 1 hour. None of us will be back there. Worst service ever

Food is always excellent, they have great specials daily. Bar area is usually busy too. The only downside is, several times while placing pickup orders, I have been asked to hold, to either be hung up on or not picked back up. I did express this to the manager, but same thing happened next time I called. BUT dining in is amazing, and the bar is a fun time too. I just think they get busy with the phone. Worth a call back!!
